I wasn't aware he actually was. Just thought it was more just people throwing out rumors, but there seems to be some legitimacy to it.

I feel like this is still a ways off but read a couple articles today.  Hayward seems pretty happy in Utah.  It's where he's from, but wouldn't surprise me if he moves onto bigger things.  I also feel like he'd fit here as a guy to build around. Some of these articles are a few days old. There was that rumor he demanded a trade, and was supposedly coming here, but that was refuted.

Already, months before the season even starts, reports on Twitter indicate Hayward might be interested in leaving. His college coach at Butler, Brad Stevens, now coaches the Boston Celtics, who have moved up the Eastern Conference standings in recent seasons.

Doesn't mean much but I'd take Hayward.  Brown is much younger and Stevens really liked him too, but getting Hayward might be too big a deal. I'll pass on Blake Griffin for now.

Seems like his situation in Utah is good.  I don't have any reason to believe otherwise.  I think he might want to move on though maybe.

Seems like Utah is trying to make a run at it with him this year.

I love Brown, and I'm very high on him. But if Hayward would love to come here to play with Stevens as 2nd or 3rd guy, I'm definitely down for it, and it certainly gives us more breathing room to open up our treasure chests of assets to use on a player like Griffin or DMC.

I wonder if it would be a Brown or Hayward thing.  Brown is still very young.   We might shop Brown for Okafor if that is the case. I think we offered that anyways.  I don't think we trade Brown unless something looks good.  We could also try to pry Hayward this season vs Utah losing him for nothing in a swap.

I don't see us trading for Hayward or Utah trading Hayward right now. They could, but I don't see them doing it at this point. They finally have a good team, I figure they want to play it out.

There's a BIG risk Hayward will leave though, and yes, to the Celtics... that's been speculated since Stevens signed with us. They have a very strong bond. But I also see Hayward very happy in Utah as it is. It'll be tough one way or another.

The time frame to check is at the trade deadline when Utah is feeling the pressure vs. their current success (which I think they will have at that point). If they're doing poorly, he's gone. But I don't see Ainge trading much for him honestly, he's aware that he's the favorite to get him if he wants him in FA.

That said, if we get Hayward by unloading a future contract we might not be interested in (Smart or Bradley at that point with Hayward on board), then that's something to consider since it may give us more operating room to go after another big FA.

In a year from now, Celtics fans will be saying "No way do I trade Brown for Hayward!".

That's my prediction.

Ainge is like a turtle who is slowly climbing up the standings as players are going to catch on with us wanting to win a ring.  I agree though it's a bit off in the distance and I feel bad for Utah in ways. They have a well run team there.

ainge didnt do this during the draft. why would he have changed his mind now?

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I have no idea. I don't think Ainge rushes into any deal though. I think talks go on and he probably knows better than me.  I'll call him right now and ask him. Hey Danny why'd you do this?

It's probably along those lines though. He just didn't want to short change any possible scenarios or Philly didn't or just talks going on at the time and things weren't straight.

I think we like Brown.  Even over Okafor as a guy who gives us different options.

We should have a good chance to signing him next summer. We will probably need to be better than the Jazz next year for is to have a better chance at him though.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Not interested. Guys who score in the high teens on mediocre/average teams are just not ass good as they seem.

They're not winning a title this coming season - so I'm fine with keeping that max slot open and seeing what develops.  I'd really like to see what they have with Brown and lets's see how the Smarts/Rozier's/Hunter's/Mickey's etc develop.  The next move, in my opinion is the key one that should vault them into title contention so I wouldn't rush it.

I think Hayward is legitament. He's not Larry Bird or Durant but as our Pedroia he'd be alright.  We are going to have to make moves to play the field is how i see it. That pun wasn't intended either but I think we do.

The nba is different now.  We don't have Larry or Magic here. Durant and Lebron either.

Okafors value has gone down below that of Brown.  We have a logjam at PG, look that way

I thought Hayward will be a free agent next year?
