If Smart for Okafor gets it done, then I would do it. Then I would do everything I can to pump up Okafor's value throughout the season - not difficult since he would be getting lots of time and we will be winning games - and then use him as a major trade piece at the deadline or next offseason in a deal for Cousins.

Playing on a winning team does a lot of for younger players' values. Okafor would likely fit the time frame of Sac's rebuild. At that point, one BKN pick and lesser picks/players might get it done.

I agree with the OP.

Cousins is high risk, high reward.

Okafor is low risk, moderately high reward.

Cousins will likely cost a core player, the brooklyn picks, and some of our best young prospects (Rozier, Smart, Brown). With Okafor we likely keep the Brooklyn picks and core intact. Cousins talent is undeniable, but his personality is a major concern. He's a gamble where you could lose everything you put in and I personally am not in favor of screwing things up by trying to rush the process.

Jerebko, Young, Rozier, 2017 Minny 2nd rounder, 2019 Clippers 1st rounder.

For Okafor, Stauskas.

It's basically Rozier and a potential future first for Okafor.

FireWycs said that its significantly decreased. Mate this offer here is like what must have been on draft night -.-

I would assume it will be the 2018 or 2019 picks and a guard of their liking. Probably avery Bradley would be the one to go. (Remember wasn't at the durant meeting too)

We don't need anything else.

Just make this okafor trade already so we can get that glaring hole

Giving up both Brooklyn picks for Boogie Cousins is a no-brainer, but the Kings won't consider making a deal until the trade deadline at the earliest, at least according to James Ham of CSN Bay Area

http://www.csnne.com/video/james-ham-dont-see-kings-giving-cousins-right-now

I'd rather have Cousins for obvious reasons, especially if all Sacramento wants are the Brooklyn picks, a few prospects, and a core player or two. If not Boogie, than Okafor would be nice to have, but I certainly don't want to give up ANY of the Brooklyn picks, and I'd like to hold onto our young talent if possible.

It just depends on how much Philly is asking for, and how badly Ainge thinks we need this young Center.

Okafor is almost a no brainer if you want to preserve your cap space for next year. He's a young guy with upside whose game can be refined with good coaching. Philly stunted his development last year by playing him at the 4 next to Noel. Didn't work. He's a 5.

Cousins will cost a ton in draft picks & players. He rarely plays 4 games in a week. Yet he puts up stats ahead of most other centers. He can be a monster player. The big question is whether he's coachable on a winning team. His problem with the Kings is maybe he wants to win on a losing team, and is frustrated. In which case he should steer a trade to a better team.

Aside from Horford and maybe Johnson as a role player, I see the Celtics as weak up front--almost any of the options out there will improve them. Vucovic is another center who may be available.

Most here don't understand the concept of buying low. They want proven commodities and are willing to empty the cupboard for him. Okafor hasn't shown them enough and by the time he does, he won't be worth whatever the 76ers are willing to deal him for now.

Okafor has shown flashes of vast potential to combat with Cousins for the best offensive 5 in the league. Instead, the focus is placed on his negatives, while his are subsequently dismissed and vice cersa for Cousins. As long as he's dedicated and barring career threatening injury, he will be a star with or without the Celtics.

I really like both players but feel like Boogie and Stevens could work.  Boogie is just young and misunderstood anyways.  Getting Boogie here makes me smile for some reason.  I just like him as a player.  Okafor too but something about Boogie.  This team could use his flare.

Neither guy is a great shotblocker but Boogie is just more a presence inside as well I think. Okafor is underrated that way though and still young himself.

Noel wouldn't be bad either.  I take Boogie out of those 3 though. Over Vucevic. He's #5 on my list with Marc Gasol up there too.

there are actually some good big men to choose from right now.  with Durant and Butler gone big men are out there.

Well, yeah, Cousins is one of the best players in the NBA. I don't know of anybody who wouldn't prefer Cousins over Okafor, it's just the cost (way way way more Cousins). Pro-Okafor folks will point to his upside as a 20 year old who just averaged 17.5/7, the fact that he has three years left on his rookie contract, and the obvious upside (and increased value if that upside comes to fruition).

Okafor was the #3 pick in the draft last year. I highly doubt they trade him for a way off future 1st and a bunch of scraps.

The Cavs are working on a trade for Cousins as we speak. Love goes to Sacramento, and Cousins to Cleveland.

Yes, I like plenty of players.  I just don't like knuckleheads, Rondo aside (I don't see him this way, but I realize that everyone is now going to pick on me for it.  Ugh.) if that's okay with you, lol ;D.  Knuckleheads, to me, often carry their behavior off the court, like Artest, Okafor, and Cousins was almost involved in this - http://www.tmz.com/2016/05/05/demarcus-cousins-brother-tased-in-club-fight/.  Not good.

Plus, as far as basketball goes, neither of Okafor nor Cousins plays any semblance of defense, and Cousins' on court antics, alone, are just...I can't, lol ;D.
