I like Okafor, but only as an option if we can't get Cousins.

Well, if you trade a couple future 1sts and a couple young guys (e.g. Rozier & Young) for him now, that doesn't preclude you from trading for Cousins in the future.

Heck, you could trade Okafor for Cousins. We all know how much Vlade likes his centers.

The Main reason is we get to KEEP the Brooklyn picks.

Remember what Ainge has done with the first two ...

There's a solid chance one of those two BRK picks turns into a top 2 pick in one of the next two drafts.

Whatever you think of Ainge's drafting, when you're in the top 2 there's a really high chance you hit on a good player.

I had to log in just to comment on this. Can we just stop relying on draft picks? Over the past 3 years who was the best draft pick? I'll gladly trade away the draft picks we have gotten from BRK for cousins as they have yet landed anything worthwhile anyway. I'm glad fans are so optimistic but reality has to strike eventually. We had 3 first round picks this past draft and could not trade for anyone worthwhile.

Boggie is a franchise cornerstone. There is nothing he cannot do and we know what to expect with him on our team. We know his weaknesses and his strengths other then with oakfor we would be getting nothing but HOPE.

Oh, I'm not suggesting he USE the picks--Trade them Later on, for Butler or someone.

My offer would be Rozier + Young/Hunter/Mickey/Yabu + two non-BRK 1sts (e.g. LAC 2019, MEM 2019)

Oh Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. off. James was a bad pick sure, but really? You're already hating on Jaylen? He has played 1 (ONE) summer league game. He got to the free throw line 17 times. 17!! He has a very good chance of becoming a stud. I see no reason why you're automatically gonna say he's a bust just because Danny didn't take the guy you wanted (which apparently was Dunn).

Not everything is about you Bo. Danny didn't do what you wanted. Boo hoo. Get over it. Jeez.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

The wise move is to get the better player that can help you win now. If you could get Cousins and he would be a professional and behave, that is a major get. Okafor will never reach the level of play that Cousins is currently at. His upside just isnt as high as that of Cousins. Also, you put quality players and a great system around Cousins, and he could be considered the 4th best player in the league if he performs to the level I think he would.

The whole problem is Cousins could be a nutjob locker room cancer. Just look at the way Rondo threw some shade at him. Now Ron Artest was a nutjob too, but he could ball when his head was in the game and his coach and team mates kept him in line.

Awww. Here come the Ainge apologists.

He squandered one Brooklyn pick and drafted a project with the other who can't shoot.

NO faith in Ainge's drafting. None. And I have zero intention of budging, despite the personal attacks on this board.

Rondo not liking Cousins is a positive for Cousins, as I see it.

The premise of this thread is bizarre. On the one hand, you have a superstar; on the other, you have a project. It's not even clear that Cousins is available. They aren't even mutually exclusive, as Okafor  isn't exactly a starting caliber player right now. So many reasons why it doesn't make sense to compare them.

I was thinking the same thing earlier. Okafor wont gut the team to get. Cousins it would cost a combo of  Crowder,AB,Smart,Brown and a NEts pick or both. I think we still need to compete at a high level to get some guys looking our way next summer. Many times Cousins disapears in the 3rd quater, because he gets tossed. So you need depth for that.

With Saric not wanting to come off the bench and threatening not to come over, Philly needs to move one of their bigs now. They still could use some young guard help to grown with their bigs. With Rozier and Yabu looking good in SL, add Young and Meph and LA 1st. If Smart or AB have to go, they have to go, but I think Smart is on the do not touch list that DA had put out.

Okafor keeps most of you main team intact, you get him younger and any attitude problems may be easier curve with locker room guys like Crowder and Horford.

A difficult player like Rondo basically saying Cousins is a problem means Cousins is probably much worse of a headcase than he is perceived as by fans. Like or dislike Rondo, he saw what it took to win in his time in Boston and he hinted that Cousins was lazy and unwilling to put in the extra time to become the most he could be. I think that speaks volumes about Cousins, especially after all the reports in the media that threw Cousins under the bus for the craziness going on behind the scenes in Sactown.

Need to give the Godfather offer for Cousins. A Horford/Cousins pairing would be deadly, and Horford would be the perfect character to put around Cousins to help him grow.

I'd offer Amir, Brown, Rozier, Young, 2017 Boston pick, and the 2018 Brooklyn pick to them for Cousins and Collison. That'd give them a really nice core to build around with Rozier, Brown, Skal, WCS and the high lottery picks they'll get the next two years.

We'd then have a championship-level roster with the following lineup:
PG: IT, Collisin
SG: Bradley, Smart, Hunter
SF: Crowder, Free Agent
PF: Horford, JJ, Guerschom
C: Cousins, KO, Mickey

That's a big lineup that will give both Cleveland and GS issues. Neither of those teams have someone that can stop Boogie down low. And hell with our spacing in that first unit, we could legitimately put everyone out at the three point line and let IT penetrate or Boogie work down low.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.
