Remember that trade the C's made with Memphis on draft night?  The Grizzlies took Deyonta Davis, which drew some mixed reactions from fans/posters.

Just announced that Davis has plantar fasciitis in his left foot.  Bad new for the big man, C's dodged one here though...

Eh, there are definitely different grades of plantar fasciitis, I had it for like a year in my left foot - sometimes it was unbearable, while others it was okay (especially if I was gellin' like Magellan). I do a lot of long distance running and could usually ease into it after a couple of miles. Basketball is another issue, though, since there is a lot more pounding and strain. With proper training, stretching, and medical attention - especially with this being the off-season, Davis should be just fine to start the season. PF is a total pain in the a**, but it's not a major injury like a torn ACL or achilles.

Explains why he fell. Also proves that GMs have knowledge fans don't...

Davis is 19 - unless he had horrible workouts and nobody knew about his plantar fasciitis, I can't imagine this is the reason he fell. If anything, I would imagine that it might have been a decent excuse as to why he didn't perform better.

If Davis ends up being amazing (I know, not likely), then a number of gms will have made a huge mistake by not selecting him because of a temporary and very curable condition.

Only in the rarest of cases (e.g. For me unfortunately) is PF chronic.  Especially considering it's the offseason, Davis could be fully healed in as few as two weeks.  I don't think this is why he slid.
