I don't think it will be either. Not unless he's played himself out of the rotation by trade deadline, but I can't imagine they'd bench him just for trade value concerns.

Any deal with Philly begins with a competent guard. It might with Chicago, too, once they get the sense that they've signed the league's top ball-stopper, but not now.

Any offer I make to Philly begins with Marcus Smart. Let him flop and dent the rims in the City of Brotherly Love. Plus, if Brown is the Hall of Famer so many here suggest, the defensive stopper replacement is right there.

Then, any package of any of our own and other team's picks not named Brooklyn - and I say this with trepidation, knowing full well Ainge's love of flawed projects - and see what you can get done. They can have any of the kid guards along with Smart, too.

Could there still be places here for Jared Sullinger and Tyler Zeller? Doubtful, if only for the fact that each of the restricted free agents should get an offer that the Celts won’t match and that would preclude the players from accepting the one-year qualifying offers to stay.

They have to do something.  As he points out, Turner's loss is a lot bigger than many realize because none of our guards are great distributors of the basketball.   That means lengthy periods of time  when they get very few easy baskets.  And that means a lot of L's.
