Who do you guys think should be the target for next signing. I think we're in need of a swingman who can score and has attitude (I'm still in favor of Lance Stephenson but many of you disagree). Losing Turner is a blow and at age 19 , Yes he might be the future but NO Brown is not NBA Beastmode ready now to dominate and be the legitimate 3rd offensive weapon behind Thomas & Horford. So just curious who do you guys think we should be targeting or do you guys really think we can stand pat right now?

1. Keep Amir and JJ for this season.
2. Let Sullinger and Zeller go (unless either come back at less than 8M/Year).
3. Sign Terrence Jones on a 1+1 deal.

Jones is young, athletic, and a PF who can rebound and score when you give him the minutes as well. If it weren't for injuries he would be very effective, and if healthy Stevens can use him well in his system. On a dysfunctional Houston team he did well, now imagine him with Boston. Also he should come relatively cheap and could be a trade chip during the season.

Free Agency
Hayward (2017)
Griffin (2017)

Trades

Cousins
Jimmy Butler
Westbrook

Of those I'd want Hayward, Westbrook or Butler the most. Cousins means we are gutting a lot of our team.

If the Kings are horrible and Cousins demands a trade it might not cost as much. Yeah might have to part with one BKN pick and Smart but that's better than both BKN picks, Smart, and a lot more.

I want Griffin or Westbrook in FA next season.

I'd happily take Griffin and Hayward. Stevens wants to run an offense based on ball movement, Horford/Griffin/Hayward would run a beautiful offense.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

You can't afford both Griffin and Hayward unless one of them takes a pretty hefty pay cut.

I'm still wary of Cousins but if he could be got for picks and prospects, I love the idea of a Horford/Cousins frontcourt. They're both traditional bigs in size but are relatively mobile and can both shoot. They could have the potential to demolish small ball teams on the glass and in the post without giving up shooting/spacing. That's an intriguing idea to me.

Is this your way of telling us that all our previous suggested targets are not realistic? =(

Why do I get the impression Ainge-Stevens are shirking away from rim protectors and rebounders? They've had numerous opportunities to get one, and so far have ignored them.  The result is they have a bunch of guys up front who can't jump or rebound.

I'm excluding Horford, mind you, who can do some of these things, but I can't help but think his main attraction to them is he shoots 3 pointers!

Get a rim protector, Danny. The Celtics were nothing in the early 50s until they got Bill Russell.
And they have never been anything without a couple of good rebounders up front.

I'm ready to roll with this team, for now.  However, I think among those trade targets suggested, Butler just might be the most available.  Why?  OKC is still a pretty good team and may try to sign Westbrook to an extension.  Kings without Cousins might as well not even be an NBA team and I think they know that.

Griffin yes. Hayward no. They have enough 3s.

When do you guys think Danny will trade for Jimmy Butler. Before the start of the season or by the trade deadline? Cause we have so many assets and cap space. I would say 2018 first round pick, second rounder, Jae Crowder, Sully/Amir for Jimmy.

Amir and Jerebko.  Continuity and character.  I'm in no rush.  This team is fun.
