I agree Rollie. Being able to attack the basket and get to the line is huge in the NBA. We haven't really had anyone that can do it well since Pierce.

The fact that he only made 11 will be an issue.

The sheer volume of trips to the line may not be an accurate representation.  Brown will get to the line plenty but closer to 5-6 due to his aggressive nature. The misses are not a concern because a couple was due to fatigue.

Once his skill catches up with his athleticism, there may not be a limit to his dominance in the future!

He had good looks to and I dont think he will have any problems finishing on a regular basis... He moved well with the ball which is a huge plus...  I also dont see the FT% to be a problem 65% in first game... time will tell but he is ready for the big show

I was impressed with Brown's defense and his ability to consistently attack the basket by getting by his man. His athleticism and strength for a 19 year old is incredible. His free throw stroke looks smooth too so I could see him being a 75%+ FT shooter eventually. This bodes well for his outside shooting too. I wasn't thrilled with his selection but his tools and instincts as well as his athleticism is going to change my mind, I think. Pretty excited by what I saw in that one game.

Even the announcers were talking about how the UTAH air had gassed alot of the younger guys. Alot of browns misses were a bit short.

but less of an issue than attempting to make any sort of definitive statement or issue out of not only a single summer league game, but the first one at that.

lighten up koz, we have a long way to go before making any judgements.

You need to be confident to be a scorer who can get to the rim.  A lot of these guys are athletic but it takes a mentality to attack the rim and see openings in the defense and run full speed into them.   There is a lot of mental game to a good finisher at the rim in the NBA.  He's showing that off the bat which I really like to see.  This team needs shooting but it needs a guy who can get to the rim, create his own shot, and finish on the break as well.

It also takes a lot of strength and endurance to play like that consistently.  People underrate how much jumping and contact around the rim takes out of you energy wise.  It's what has made LeBron so impressive as an athlete for me.   He should get better there.

Brown looks promising.  His slashing has great value in a team based on spacing.  With a respectable jump shot he should be a tough cover.

The most consistent scorers are those that get to the line and he certainly did that in his first game.  He missed some FTs but one game is not anything to draw from in that regard.  Personally, I look at how guys play more than anything in Summer League (have they added parts to their game, what is their mentality, how do they look in the NBA system vs college).

Jaylen, learn to shoot a hook shot with either hand and avoid injury.

It's a long season, and if you go in for spectacular dunks all the time, you are going to get injured.

He'll probably learn to shoot a floater. Those last two dunk attempts were because he was ticked off at him self for not having a better game and was going to take it out on the rim...

Which is fraking awesome to have a kid with that attitude!
