Will the organization retire #9 for Rondo, if let's say Brown became a multiple all-star and one of the major factors of winning future banners for the C's?

I don't see Rondo getting #9 retired regardless of what happens with Brown.

#9 should not be retired. And so is #20.

9 isn't getting retired (for Rondo). Maybe for Jaylen if he's a super stud.

Quite frankly, I like seeing it back on the floor. Single digit numbers are always nice, and I missed 9. Also, Jaylen said he wants to talk with Avery to see if he can get 0 from him. I don't think that's happening.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Why the heck would we retire Rondo's number? Dude might be out of the league in three years. He was good, never great. He will not even whiff the HOF. Even Ray-Ray and KG might head into the HOF as non-Celtics (Bucks and Timberwolves), so I am not even sure we'll retire their numbers. Obviously Pierce will get his number retired.

What about Rondo? He's one of my favourite players but I don't believe he's getting his number retired. Pierce of course, Garnett yes because of the culture impact on the team. Rondo and Ray, nah I don't think they deserve it solely because they were part of a championship team

For any other team but Boston, Ray gets his number retired.  Rondo, not so much.  He arguably wasn't even the fourth most important player on a championship team and, outside of several magical moments, had just a largely good career in Boston that ended disasterously.

Jaylen will be on the lineup verry quickly. He's just to good. Jae will be hell of a bench.

I read that about him asking AB for 0. Calm down now rook. He actually might have a little bit of young Kobe in him he's a little cocky but I like it.

No. There is no rational argument where Rondo is not the 4th best player in 2008. Those magical "moments" were the length of entire playoff series and entire playoffs. He was our best player in the 2009 playoffs. He was possibly the best player for the whole 2010 season when we were a quarter away from winning it all. He had another great season in 2011 and might have been our best player in those playoffs, too, had he not had his arm busted after which he returned to the game and played PG with one arm and we won the ****ing game. (Try imagining how revered Paul Pierce or Larry Bird would've been for that move, how career-defining that would've been even for them.) He was easily our best player in the 2012 playoffs, of course, when he played like LeBron's equal.

He deserves serious consideration for number retirement. Had we won in 2010, it's a certainty he'd have his number retired someday. He might still, anyway. Someday Bradley will be traded or he'll retire or whatever, and Jaylen will switch to 0. Or maybe 20 years from now Brown and Rondo will both have their number retired in the rafters with separate identical 9's. Regardless...Rondo is getting massively, sinfully shortchanged here.

Somehow I don't see Dallas or Sacro (or now Chicago) retiring Rondo's number either.  ;)

He was the 4th most important player on one championship team. If the C's retired everyone by that standard it would be ridiculous (as it would for a number of other teams).

How many 4th-best on one championship players have the C's retired? Personally, I don't retire Ray's number either.

KG and PP are plenty from that team.

If we had retired the number of every good player, we would have run out of numbers years ago. Rondo was a good Celtic who provided some magical moments. But we only won a single championship with him, and that was before his best days even (some would argue Tony Allen and/or Kendrick Perkins was more instrumental in that championship year). He was good, not a Hall of Famer. We traded the guy when he was still in his 20s for a reason. He just turned 30 and is on his fourth team for a reason.
