I don't blame the celts at all. We had to go for Horford to have a chance at Durant but he's a declining 15 and 6 guy. Do peeps here think any team would be interested in getting that max slot opened for us again. Eesh. Tough day to be a celts fan.

Come on now.. I know we're all disappointed about Durant, but we should still be pumped about getting Horford.  He's by far the best big man we've had since KG.  He will help teach our youngsters about basketball and life, he's a very good guy and role model.  Not to mention, we now have 2 all stars.  That could help us attract another free agent next offseason.  We should all stay positive, we will be a playoff team with a high lottery pick next year.
Mock Deadline Denver Nuggets
Nurcic/Henson
Patterson/Bennett/Arthur
Ross/Budinger
Miller/Hunter/Foye
Rubio/Ennis/Bayless

Horford is perfect for this team.  Stop it.

We're gonna win 50+ with him next season.   Get pumped.  Contract isn't an issue at all.

Hey, believe me once the ball is in the air I'll be pumped to watch. I think you know more about the salary structure than I do. Math is not my strength. Gotta laugh at " Stop it." though. I'm not starting anything in the 1st place . I'm proud of the team.  I'm just asking a question. There are knowledgeable people on the celts here. That's why I asked.
STOP IT!

Lol jk.  You're gonna love Horford.  Have some highlight videos:

We could renege on the offer - nothing can be signed til Thursday.  But then we'd never have another FA give us the time of day til the entire front office was replaced and maybe ownership too.

Can we move you instead?

He is a 7 rpg guy who shoots over   51% from the field and 34% from downtown plus    1.5 BPG

QUESTION ARE YOU JARED SULLINGER?   Because this is the only way this post makes sense.

I didn't consider the PR damage if we went and moved him. Right that would be bad.

1.  We can back out of officially signing him;

2. We can trade him after December 15.

Both are bad ideas.

I don't think anyone has suggested we renig and not go  through with the contract but everyone seems to have assumed that he would be upset if we traded him at some point.  I think he was probably hoping that Durant would come here too.  He may be fine with a trade at some point.  My fear is that he is at the point of his career where he will likely decline every season from here on and along the way, there is a higher than average change he will suffer a major injury based on his history.  If that happens, his value goes poof.  He should not be on any kind of "untouchable" list.  If he plays well and we get a strong offer at the deadline or next off season, he should be as tradeable as anyone.

I'm sure he'll be in demand but trading him immediately after signing is rough stuff to ever attract another future FA.

Seriously? Go back to your video game.

That's not very nice. I don't play video games. It was just a question. I'd just rather have that dough for a younger guy. Chill out. Lol

Who did you have in mind this late in FA?  If no one comes to mind, you do realize that the C's have to spend up to a certain percentage of the cap and unless you envision over-spending on  Sully to reach that minimum level why did you create this thread?

Step 1) Celtics acquire all star player without giving up any assets
Step 2) Celtics fans want to get rid of said player 96 hours later

Rinse and Repeat.

I guess if you really wanted to get rid of him is just dont sign him, nothing is offical yet. But makes no sense
