With Horford on the team what happens to Amir

I think you have to consider Amir, Sully, Jerebko and Zeller all together.

Personally I like Amir best among that bunch, but it may make sense to pick up the QO on Sully who is younger and more tradable than Amir.

Zeller will definitely go but I could see Sully playing for the QO.  I really doubt anyone is offering him Bismack Biyombo money with how he ended the season.

Actually, Amir fits well with Horford. Amir tends to stay home, around the basket. Horford on offense can stretch the floor, and have much more of an offensive roll on the C's. He's a solid passer too.

Both are pretty athletic, long, defend well, and can run the floor.

Yes, Amir and Jerebko are our only other plus big man defensive players.

Bringing Amir back seems like a good move, IMO. He's our best big outside of Horford and he can start at the 4 or 5.

Zeller is definitely gone - Amir and JJ are definitely staying - and Sully I could see signing a big 1+1. I know the playoffs left a sour taste in our mouths, but he was a productive player throughout the last couple of years. He is our asset; if he somehow takes the next step, we would then have another plus player for trade.

We are going to have money left over, we might as well use it on our own player who is better than most anybody else available right now.

Absent some other big FA move or trade that no one is noticing, Amir & JJ will almost certainly get their contracts vested.

And Amir and JJ both make a lot of sense and fit well with Horford.   Amir + Horford immediately becomes one of the better defensive front courts in the East.

Starting lineup becomes:  IT + AB + JC + Horford + Amir.

Sully's younger, but I don't think he's the more tradable contract unless he actually takes the one year qualifying offer. I think Amir at one more year and only 12 million is not only more tradable, but also gives Danny so much more flexibility next year.

And I really like Johnson and Horford next to each other. Both are tough defensive players who switch well defensively and can hit open outside shots. Them paired with Crawford, Bradley (and especially when Smart is in for IT) might make us the best defensive team in the NBA.
