I think you have to consider Amir, Sully, Jerebko and Zeller all together.

Personally I like Amir best among that bunch, but it may make sense to pick up the QO on Sully who is younger and more tradable than Amir.

Sully's younger, but I don't think he's the more tradable contract unless he actually takes the one year qualifying offer. I think Amir at one more year and only 12 million is not only more tradable, but also gives Danny so much more flexibility next year.

And I really like Johnson and Horford next to each other. Both are tough defensive players who switch well defensively and can hit open outside shots. Them paired with Crawford, Bradley (and especially when Smart is in for IT) might make us the best defensive team in the NBA.

If he takes the qualifying offer, he can't be traded without his consent.

Good point. Even more of a reason why I like Johnson better than Sully. Still, if Sully wants to take the QO for one year, that's such low money that it's worth giving him another year to see what happens (while maintaining his Bird Rights).

I agree that Johnson and Horford is our likely starting front court for next season.

Absent some other big FA move or trade that no one is noticing, Amir & JJ will almost certainly get their contracts vested.

And Amir and JJ both make a lot of sense and fit well with Horford.   Amir + Horford immediately becomes one of the better defensive front courts in the East.

Starting lineup becomes:  IT + AB + JC + Horford + Amir.

That lineup with Smart instead of IT is terrifying on defense.

And with Bradley and Horford they might actually score a bucket here and there.

I still would like to see JJ in that starting lineup alongside Horford. I think he provides just as much potential offense as Amir with more floor spacing and more versatile defense out on the perimeter.

That's not a bad option either.  I am probably alone with this next opinion, but I think Kelly has a chance to earn a starting spot as well.

Oh yeah, it's going to be interesting in training camp, because all three of those guys have legitimate cases to be the starting 4.

Either way, even if we don't add anything else, we're in a pretty good position moving forward just by the addition of Horford.
