The Horford signing is a positive. Lets get back to making the C's better.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
If we didn't have the nets picks it would be questionable, but we can attempt to get Cousins or other marquee guys for the next 3-4 years while the Nets give us lottery picks.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Love the Horford signing, very underrated because he has a timeless game for a big man.  He'll play just as well at the end of the contract as he does at the beginning.

Plus Horford wants to be a Celtic...and I only want guys that want to be here.

Great move. Was the best free agent not named durant. This team can make the ECF finals this year. Progress.

Next, the rebuild is a step by step process. No durant this year, but there will be good FA next year as well. Plus the nets pick.

I'm still a fan
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I hope he plays center. Otherwise we spent 113 million dollars on a pf that is gonna hinder the development of our glut of other pf's.  I think Danny made this move to lure KD and it backfired.  It'd be nice to sign someone else though.

Still a great move. Horford is a class act and perfect type of personality for our team. We are still an alpha superstar away but with Horford who is an all-star, we are closer to being able to get that final piece of the puzzle. I for one am happy he is a Celtics player now and believe Danny did an amazing job of getting him here.

We will get our alpha star..just not today. Wouldn't Cousins look great next to Horford? That combo could cause problems for the Cavs and the Dream team in the Bay Area...

Doesn't it kinda feel like positioning the team to maybe get the privilege of getting swept by the Warriors in the Finals in a year or two?
What is the problem? We lost zero players signing Horford. Did you prefer being swept by Atlanta in the first round?

This "championship or nothing" mentality makes no sense. You can never guarantee a championship. And who thought GS would be this good before Green became a top player and Curry took it to the next level?

Great move - still incredibly happy Horford joined us and we didn't have to give up anything to get him. We have an exciting team. Durant was never really 'expected', but it is disappointing nonetheless. I am looking forward to the future of the Cs, especially with all the picks we still have coming.

I wanna say, I love Horford and I am really looking forward to watching this Celts team.

The Horford move gave the Celts a shot at Durant, and still gives them a chance of convincing some other guy, probably Cousins, Westbrook, or Griffin, to come here in a year.

But at the same time, it does feel like the Celts are still a couple moves away from being in position to challenge the Cavs for the right to face the most stacked team in NBA history.  That's kind of an odd position to be in, right?

We do have Brown and the other Nets picks coming, though, so at worst this is just an entertaining bridge period between now and when the Warriors and Cavs are no longer so much better than everybody else.

Hordford equals 50+ wins and probably Sully is out. Two things I want!

Geezus, everybody going to quit now? Find a corner and start sucking your thumb?

Continue to build this team. Plenty of chips to trade and a handful of Free Agents left.
