Had to get some sleep and woke up to this.   Not good news.  What i don't understand either is why he signed a short contract.   Just seems like he is a gun for hire there. I don't blame him for wanting to experience different things is what it sounds like, and he might come here eventually but still leaves us with a lot of questions.  GS has a lot of free agents coming up. That situation there is anything  but stable past the next couple years.  He may go back to OKC too depending on what they do or even reup with GS if he likes it there.  Sounds like he just wants a ring.  He could have done that here though with a lot more stability long term.

Ainge's plan is not really working as advertised either.  Jerry West beat us to the punch.  There are only so many players we could have drafted in that time, but he really needs to do a better job in that area taking care of ourselves not   putting our hopes on players like this.

Really going to the Warriors couldn't be worse for us.  We have a young team where we can wait on Durant but not overly wise either.  West knows what we are trying to do and beat us to the punch.  Would have been different if he signed here but he didn't.
my guess is he signed a short contract so he can torture us all here at CB one more time with hopes of the celtics signing him.  ;D

I agree.  Sounds like my ex girlfriend who is from LA honestly who has been married twice since she left and still talks like I'm going to be the last one.  F her. People nowadays are absurd.  She might as well be married to Pat Riley.

We need to show some self respect as fans and find better players and people somehow.

He signed a short contract because the cap goes up a lot again next year.  It makes the most financial sense.
Yeah that's part of it I'm sure, but how much money do you need when you are already making 9 figures?  I feel a big part of his reason (like LeBron), is to give himself an "out" if it doesn't work out in GS.

It sucks that KD did not come here. But we were one of the final three teams he considered. I have no hard feelings. Curious whether he would have chosen GS had they beaten the Cavs. Would change the narrative for sure. At least he can now feel like they need him to get back over the top. Will be a ton of pressure on that team to win it all every season. Like the Heat when LBJ made the decision.  The other 29 will be rooting against them. Big athletes, Tristan Thompson and LBJ body types will be key to beating them. We have the perimeter defense to handle Curry and Thompson pretty well. Hope Zizic can play this season for us. He will really help in a couple of years time.

lol at everyone on here saying the 4-time scoring champion with an MVP award ruined his legacy by going to a team where he'll have a good chance at winning a championship.

I don't think anyone is disputing his reason to join.

That Jerry West phone call is even more telling now. "Don't be known as a loser like me Kevin, go ring chase if you have to".

It definitely won't hurt his legacy. Everyone cried the same story when Lebron jumped to Miami and everyone was wrong then, too.

If Durant's decision today had been to retire, he'd be a first ballot HoF'er and probably be considered one of the top 25 players of all time. Whether or not you like the decision, going to GS doesn't change ny of that.

But LeBron's decision did, in fact, tarnish his reputation in the eyes of many. And so does KD's.

It's not even that he didn't come to Boston, which definitely does sting, but it's more so the fact he went with GSW...the team that beat him in the playoffs. You want to play for a good team, but that's just something I didn't expect him to do.  To each their own I guess. I think even if he somehow ended up on the Clippers, and they were able to keep their core intact with him, it would still be viewed negatively, but perhaps not as bad as GSW looks.  Had he gone to Boston or even Miami, it would've been viewed positively I think.

He was too young to pull this Ray Allen stunt .

Joining the team you almost beat,  that was in Your way .......

It will be easier to dislike GS now .   I use to like em .

Looks bad on the NBA ,  bad on Durrant .

Feel for OKC fans ........

At least LeBron left and did his own thing with new teammates to build a team.

Very poor taste choice by Kevin .

Sorry it turned out like this .    I thought he d be architect of greatness .

I will no longer put him in the same sentence with MJ , Kobe and LeBron , or the other older stars.

Lebron didn't go to a 73 win team that just knocked him out of the playoffs to play 2nd (or 3rd) fiddle to the reigning MVP.  This is much more egregious.  He will be remembered as a guy afraid of competition and wanted to be handed rings in the middle of his prime.  There is nothing great or inspirational about that.

Maybe this deserves its own thread but does anyone have who is currently locked up on the Warriors roster now?

I have Curry, Thompson, Durant, Iggy, Green, and Livingston.  That's it right?

Just think - it literally took two separate blown 3-1 series leads for him go there.

If OKC would've not choked and went to the Finals, he would've almost certainly resigned in OKC.

If  GS would've not choked and won the Finals, he would've almost certainly signed somewhere else, according to reports.

Thus, both parties choking allowed them to team up. Go figure.  ::)

The pressure on them is going to be absolutely crushing. They will be absolutely crucified if they don't win it all, but I would bet money that they have a 2011 Miami Heat type of rough season.

They also have so many questions to answer - Who is their starting center? What kind of supporting cast are they going to be able to surround themselves with?
