I can't blame him for wanting to live in SF, but he did two things by signing with them-

Solidified his legacy as not having one any more

Ruined the entire league

Even Silver said he would look into a rule change if Durant went to GS. If he came to Boston there would be two powerhouse teams in each conference (parrity), now there are three powerhouses in the West and one in the East.

Way to ruin the league KD >:(

With this proves KD hasn't class. He goes with the goods children, a whole town as Boston was waiting to him .
So Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are so big abd legends, you're not a leader KD . Hopefully not win anything.
This is the NBA in this days.
Kevin Durant doesn't owe anything to Boston, and Kevin Garnett did pretty much what Durant did (agreed to go to a team that get up half a roster to add him, so that he can team with two other HoFers).

Garnett wasn't exactly going to leave Minnesota though, he decided to go when he got traded..

It's very different in a sense, Boston sucked the year before, uncertainty all over.

not even close.
Kevin Garnett had a no-trade clause which he decided to waive after Boston acquired Ray Allen. Fundamentally, this decision is no different than Durant's, except that Boston sent a bunch of contracts to Minesotta, and GSW will still have to figure out what to do with theirs.

That is absolute nonsense. GS won something like 50 more games than Boston won the previous season, and GS has a two-time MVP and three other All-Stars on their team after just beating the regular season record. Apples and oranges.
Less different than you think.

Also, you got the fruit wrong. It looks mostly like grapes around here.
"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

what lebron did is somewhat different. heat were dispatched in the first round easily by the celtics the year before.

also, lebron didnt have anyone as good as Westbrook as a sidekick. mo Williams was the second best player that year and an ancient shaq. and bosh was wasting away on the raptors. and the celtics easily dispatched the cavs as well

they teamed up to build something in miami.

durant joined a 73 win team that went to two straight finals appearances and won one. the team is already built and hes hopping along for the ride.

and to make matters worse, its a team his thunder were up 3-1 and blew it. alot to do with him why they blew it too. if he closed them out thunder couldve won the finals.

would have been bummed either way.. but chosing GS over the other options is the easiest thing he could have done. Why bother with all the meetings if you were just going to take the easiest option. lame

Guys, nobody looked down on KG when he signed as a free agent with the Celtics, who as we all remember won 67 games and a ring in 2006 and 73 with a narrow finals loss in 07.  Let's not be hypocritical here.

Barring injuries it is another GS and Cavs finals. There is not team to challenge Cleveland in the east and I expect a cake walk for GS. I hope I am wrong but I expect a boring playoffs next year.

Even obvious sarcasm is getting bashed. Thanks KD.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Once again, I'm at a point in my life where I have to say

"Eff you, Jerry West"
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Im sure people will think Im a fool, but I honestly don't see how this move made GS a better "team". KD is shooter, one of the best in the league, but GS didn't exactly need another scorer... scoring simply wasn't their problem. You have just added a third volume shooter to a team with two volume shooters already on it, but last time I checked its still just one ball. This falls apart next season when Curry is now averaging 18pts a game but want the max contract. Iggy will also demand a max contract. This team is also now paper thin with no quality off of the bench, especially bigs with Bogut and Ezeli likely out this off season. To be honest this just doesn't move the needle much in my regard.

This is the same type of paper GM-ing people did when Love joined the Cavs and the only thing that has happened is Love, once perceived as one of the leagues best, is now seen as damaged goods.

No worries man, TP.  I remember KG was very adamant that he just wanted to grow as a player and the 3 All-NBA players the Celtics had in 07, and Pierce's 2 consecutive MVPs, had nothing to do with it.

Yep!

We actually needed him. Golden State didn't. It's all going to unravel. He'll be opting out next summer. And I hope we completely ignore him.
