With this proves KD hasn't class. He goes with the goods children, a whole town as Boston was waiting to him .
So Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are so big abd legends, you're not a leader KD . Hopefully not win anything.
This is the NBA in this days.
Kevin Durant doesn't owe anything to Boston, and Kevin Garnett did pretty much what Durant did (agreed to go to a team that get up half a roster to add him, so that he can team with two other HoFers).

Garnett wasn't exactly going to leave Minnesota though, he decided to go when he got traded..

It's very different in a sense, Boston sucked the year before, uncertainty all over.

not even close.
Kevin Garnett had a no-trade clause which he decided to waive after Boston acquired Ray Allen. Fundamentally, this decision is no different than Durant's, except that Boston sent a bunch of contracts to Minesotta, and GSW will still have to figure out what to do with theirs.
Garnett didn't have to go to Boston because of the no-trade clause, but agreeing to waive that and signing somewhere as a free agent are two vastly different things.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Joining up with guys is much different than drafting and trading for them. GS doesn't even need him. This is like a millionaire finding a 100 grand in his closet.
It really isn't. How many of you said "Garnett's legacy is done after he joined up with Pierce and Allen just to win a title"?
"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Judas is the perfect term for it. It reminds me of Ray Allen signing with the Heat, except taken to a whole other level.

Durant didn't betray us and go to a rival.  He simply choose the better team.  There is a big difference between the two.

He's a coward and that will forever be his legacy.  I'm not at all saying he had to come to Boston, but this was such a weak move.  It's ten times worse than what Lebron did.  He will be mocked forever.

Oh, so Durant (a legend for OKC fans) didn't just betray his Thunder fans to go to a Warriors team, who's already playing at historical levels, and just eliminated their team in the playoffs?

If this isn't a definition of being a full on traitor to your fan base, I don't know what is.

Garnett was not a free agent. I dont care how anyone wants to spin it. He joined a team that won 20 games the year before or whatever, and they still were not favorites to win a ring.

How can you compare this?

Garnettr was not going to ask Minny to trade him anyway and his contract would run out in 2009, making him 33

Durant took the easy way out. He did what Aldridge did. Hooked onto a winner. James makes a team into a champion. There's a difference.

Ainge has to go for Gasol. Celtics can't contend with just Horford. He needs Horford-Gasol up front at 4-5. They will give the Cavs a fight.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Now i just hope Lebron recruits the other half of team USA....
And buries them.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Danny has to forget about Durant and move on. Gasol is there. He has more work to do up front if he wants to beat the Cavs.

It isn't even remotely the same thing.  KG was leaving a Minn. team that had been bad for quite a while and no one was just handing Boston the title before the season began.

KD is leaving a legit title contender with another top 5 player on the roster that was up 3-1 on the Warriors in the West Finals.

Ouch.

How on Earth does Golden State help him grow as a player? What a phony. If he really wants to grow as a player go to the Nets.

Nobody thought less of Garnett for being traded to the C's. If you can't see the difference I don't know what to tell you. This takes chasing a ring to a whole new level. What the players today have become lol

Ray made a smart decision. Did It hurt us fans, yup it did, but it was a smart decision at 36, he wasnt going to be that effective, he knew it too, he also could not stand Rondo, at the time we couldnt see it, but now we know what kind of guy Rondo can be.

Durant is 20 times worse. The guy had a career year and in his prime could have had his own team for the next 9 years and that team would be contenders every year, but look what he chose.
