It'd get the phony sanctimony types clucking but I think it'd be great if OKC fans showered the court with cheap plastic rings when GS plays there.

Haha Twitter is being hilarious right now ;D

This little pocket of the universe might sway from popular opinion, being that this is a forum made up of hardcore celtic fans who have long-despised LeBron, but my quick glance at opinions around the league seems to be showing that this will have a profound effect on LeBron's approval rating.   Many many folks, myself included, will be rooting hard for him to destroy that overloaded Golden State roster if they meet again in the Finals next year.
Definitely. My view on LeBron has changed a lot after KD's announcement, and I hope that he is going to make it hard for them to win.

Yeah, same here. I still won't root for him all the time, but if it comes down to Cavs vs Warriors, I'll be making the two hour trek to Cleveland to support them.

I've never rooted for injuries to players, and I'm embarrassed to say this, but if any major injury were to happen to one or more of the Big 4 Warrior players, I wouldn't feel bad one bit and might even be smiling inside.

Durant/Warriors have just supplanted the Kobe:Lakers/LeBron:Cavs/Heat as my most vilified player/franchise in all my years of following sports.

As many on here have said, go back to OKC, he gets a pass..understandable.

Go to the team that you just lost to in an incredibly emotional series, a team that you went to war against with your teammates?>>>>>>JUDAS
NBA-TV analysts called it "unfinished business" in predicting he would stay put in OKC.

I may be completely alone in this, but this still does not rise to the level of absurdity as LeBron's Decision.

And doesn't this almost guarantee a work stoppage next year with a new CBA? I've seen several reports of NBA owners saying they're now going to push for a hard cap and other stuff to avoid this type of crap.

Cancel the season for all I care like MLB did in the mid-90s. This league is not worth spending a penny on if they allow a single franchise to become a monopoly. I cannot think of anything more anti-competitive than the second or third best player in the league joining a 73-win team. I do not think fans can stand for this.

With this proves KD hasn't class. He goes with the goods children, a whole town as Boston was waiting to him .
So Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are so big abd legends, you're not a leader KD . Hopefully not win anything.
This is the NBA in this days.
Kevin Durant doesn't owe anything to Boston, and Kevin Garnett did pretty much what Durant did (agreed to go to a team that get up half a roster to add him, so that he can team with two other HoFers).

Judas is the perfect term for it. It reminds me of Ray Allen signing with the Heat, except taken to a whole other level.

Sure doesn't!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Ray Allen was nearing the end....he made a basketball decision to go play elsewhere

hes not the 2nd best player in the league in his prime lol

Durant is a pansy

Ray Allen made a smart decision even though it cost him a couple of message board fans.

Everyone knew in the end that the team was nearing the end.

We also found out how much of a pain Rondo really was, but at that point everyone had his back too.

Garnett wasn't exactly going to leave Minnesota though, he decided to go when he got traded..

It's very different in a sense, Boston sucked the year before, uncertainty all over.

not even close.

I hope all the other teams force the Warriors to have to buy out players on their team rather than allow them to trade them to make the Durant deal happen

A buyout wouldn't clear the cap hold, so if no one trades for Bogut or Iggy they'll be stuck (KD would have to take a pay cut).  There's no way to get all 29 teams to cooperate, though

If there is one, "ensuring that nobody else will win a title for the next five years" just may be it.

Yeah, this move is going to kill the bottom-line of a number of franchises. If anything could make all owners agree on there being no trades with a single team, this is it.

All I can say is Durant is a complete fraud, a total beta in an alpha world.  There is no point to the season, just play the conference finals and be done with it.

I have cancelled DirecTV.  Everything he stated as mattering was a crock.  He blew every chance to beat them so he joined them.  Typical millennial.

Kevin Garnett had a no-trade clause which he decided to waive after Boston acquired Ray Allen. Fundamentally, this decision is no different than Durant's, except that Boston sent a bunch of contracts to Minesotta, and GSW will still have to figure out what to do with theirs.

Joining up with guys is much different than drafting and trading for them. GS doesn't even need him. This is like a millionaire finding a 100 grand in his closet.
