So this is what Celtics management meant about ''fireworks''. I have to say they are arriving right on time! I'm betting at this point that Durant announces he's signing tomorrow, again, right in time for 'fireworks day''.

If this is the case and the team stays healthy then we are again contenders. Throw in a couple of draft day jackpots, a couple more free agent signings in the next year or two, and a couple of minor but good trades and we may be looking at a new Celtics Dynasty!

Yes, I totally agree with that. We have the perfect supporting cast for Durant now...Horford, IT and some strong supporting cast like Bradley/Smart/Crowder and their suffocating D. Our other players will all be raised to a higher level as well. Our second unit will become a powerhouse as well.  All it would take is Durant to declare his love affair with Boston tomorrow evening...day before the 4th....I might need to get another bottle of red ..one for tonight and one for tomorrow.

The fact we still have all our parts and did not do a knee jerk trade on draft day coupled with those glorious Brooklyn picks over the next 2 years, we could potentially be looking at the dawn of a new era of Celtics championships. If we get Durant, I bet Lebron leaves Cleveland the following year and heads out west.

Even if the team misses out on Durant, Ainge could still get Cousins sometime in the next 12 months and put Horford and Cousins alongside each other up front.

I agree, and even beyond that having a well-respected star vet like Horford here helps us next offseason even if KD doesn't work out.  This can be the first domino even if the next one doesn't topple for a while.

Yeah, go after Blake Griffin in 2017 Free Agency.

Heck, if that falls through, go after Millsap. Reunite them together here in Boston only with our perimeter guys and all our bench depth and young talent.

Signing Horford opens up a lot of possibilities outside Durant to push this team to next level.

I recall reading earlier articles describing how important the security of that 5th year ATL could offer was to Horford.  If that's true, the C's must've really put together an impressive recruiting session.
