I'm not surprised at all he got that.  He was a force at times in the playoffs, and he's only 23.  There's not too many other guys out there you can say that about.  Certainly not Harrison Barnes.

What's Tristan Thompson make?  Is he any better?  Considering what Mozgov and Noah got, it looks pretty good.

Seems like just yesterday people folks were responding to his Toronto contract by saying:

"Biyambo 2 year 6 million to the raptors hahahahahahaha"

Eja, was it you who said he'd never play in the NBA again?
I do remember saying his next team would be Zalgiris Kaunus and therefore yes it was probably me.

Given this particular opportunity to admit that I was wrong (I admit he outplayed his contract) or to double down.....I'm doubling down. This is the single worst contract signed in this week. Give me the Al Jefferson one over this one for sure.

Lol found Eja's quotes from last year

Quote
"My prediction....Biyombo doesn't play in the NBA next year. Most likely spots....CSKA Moscow, Turkey (Fenerbache), Zalgiris Kaunus, Lietuvos Rytas, or possibly Neptunas or Juventus, but then he'd have to deal with living in Utena, which if you've never been there.....it doesn't really scream prime free agent destination, but they finished third in the LKL last year, so he might not start for them, or if he did that would be great.  He is in no way, shape, or form good enough for Panathikos or Real Madrid"

The NBA is definitely a major level up from college. That's why Biyombo hardly plays. WCS is going to play in the NBA next year. Biyombo won't.

Eja never said any of this.  Didn't you hear that his account was hacked? ;) ;D

Zalgiris Kaunus would have made perfect sense for him!

Dude, did you miss the whole thing with Larbrd33 saying that his account was hacked for like 5 months by Nicki Minaj's entourage/friends or something?  I can barely type that without bursting into laughter, btw ;D.

I did miss that part. 5 months? Wow. What are the odds?

TP Eja.  I don't even blame you for saying that stuff - plus, it was one of your funniest posts to date.  Figuring out the names of those teams must have taken some research.

But yeah, Biyombo seemed like a limited player.  He could clearly rebound and defend, though.  And that still has value in this league.  $70 mil worth of value - not so sure.  But people are throwing around money like crazy and Biyombo is still young and improving.  I thought someone was going to overpay him last Summer.  Looks like I was a year off.

Yeah.  Nicki took down me and D'Angelo Russell around the same time.  We're taking the high road, though.

They sign him for what? Just so other teams don't sign him?
I seriously don't get it.
Anyway, I never get why they kept Harris, just to give him for free the next season.
Orlando is a mess.

What are you talking about "figuring out."  I have both a Juventus hat and t shirt. And a Zalgiris one. Neptunas. I admit I am not very familiar with Klaipeda's team.

Love Bismack's game and would have loved to score him as a cheap backup, which could have been a possibility if not for his playoff performance. He's young enough that he could still develop into the next Mutombo. Hopefully he does well in Orlando. I'd rather have Horford, of course.

I don't remember anyone saying this. I do remember many people saying that he'd get a mammoth contract and revert back to being mediocre, though.
I never forget.  That's a direct quote from Rondo2287 after Biyombo signed with the Raptors.

Good for Big Smack.  Solid defender/rebounder.   He would have been a nice fallback option if we missed out on the big names.
You and me took a beating for saying we should have signed him. Now people can't even remember what it was like before he was utilized correctly.......John Henson is somewhat the same thing IMO
