and there was the collusion or tampering charge against Jerry West?

What if..... Durant and Horford have been locked up by Ainge for a while now? With all the hints from both of them about Boston. Horford at the All Star weekend, and Durant lately tooting Boston as a great sports city. Add this to Ainge toying with everyone else at the draft.

Could this all mean Ainge knew something we all did not?

I wish.  I don't think so though or else why the dog and pony show and all these visits and meetings?  They just would have announced it the first day of free agency.  KD and Horford agree in principal to sign with Celtics!
