The latest reports certainly aren't good, but the last reports prior to Al signing weren't good either. I'm discouraged, but not hopeless yet.

What about this report that he is strongly considering the Celtics?  ;D

The fact that Blakely is reporting that is perhaps the most discouraging thing out there.

It would be bad for the NBA if he goes to GS. The league would get less competative.
awful for the league.  awful for the fans.  awful for nike.  awful for durant.  just awful.

But at least he'd be taking a steaming dump on Clay Bennett - so I'd get over it.

Funny thing is, it would just make LeBron an even greater underdog.  King James would gain so many points if Durant goes heel like this and turns Golden State into the evil empire.  There would be no shame in rooting for LeBron at that point (assuming LeBron gets past our solid 55 win contender and Embiid's 76ers).

Wouldn't the Lebron aspect of all this be great for Nike?

We're at the point where you can't trust anything on the tweets unless it's the player himself.

Blakely of CNNSE and Slater (OKC writer) both say it's Celtics, Warriors and OKC, as of 9 pm tonite. Slater says Horford changed the formula to make it close. They both expect in the end Durant will stay in OKC for 1 yr.

I hope Ainge has his sights on Gasol. He's another great fit. No sense in saving cap space for the future. The future is now, with Horford here.

he probably doesnt want to get egg on his face again. like stating boston is out of the running for AL horford and then announcing he signed with the celtics 4 minutes later

After watching the NBA Free Agency Special the last couple of days, I'm okay with not believing the crap that comes out of their mouths. They've been pushing this GS idea for six plus months now, and they're certainly not abandoning it now.

Besides, this is truly one of those situations where it might be okay for us if he goes to GS, because he obviously doesn't think that he can win the championship as the best player on the team in that case.

More so than Blakely, although that's not saying much. Personally, I'm not going to believe we're out of it until Durant signs with OKC or GSW, but reports from reliable beat writers, like Royce Young, are less than encouraging.

Or it's possible that no one even knows for sure and people are just getting paranoid seeing a few tweets from people who usually just state what they feel. I mean I'm anxious too but one minute, it will be OKC vs GSW for Durant, the next some decent reporter will say the Clippers are back in the hunt and ESPN (Broussard) will talk about how it's down to OKC vs. LAC...

Royce Young is an OKC homer who hated everything the Celtics did yesterday (Tom Brady, Horford signing, etc.).

He also didn't think Horford would go to BOS and if I'm not mistaken said briefly that OKC were strong frontrunners for Horford before he relented...

Young isn't reliable. He was outright blasting the C's yesterday. He's the counterpart to Forsberg who writes about the team, but he's never a "report breaker" type or a guy with many league sources.

He's also biased being the OKC guy, so the fact that his tweet is the source for all of this has me encouraged.
