Details on Durants call with west.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

How is the math if he decides to join GSW? Can they sign him outright or will it require a trade?

They'll pretty much gut their team. I think they'll be able to keep Steph, Klay, Green, Iggy, and Livingston to sign Durant (while losing Barnes and Ezeli as free agents), and they'll already be at the cap.

That's yet another reason that I can't imagine KD goes there. If he wants a lesson on how important a supporting cast is, look at the Clippers and what they haven't been able to do, even with a ton of talent.

They would also have to trade Bogut.

Mike

Do they have to trade before they announce the signing? I wonder how hard it would be if they announce the signing and then had to move Bogut. I'm still waiting for those rumors to come out before I get too nervous. Or more nervous than I already am. :)

That's an interesting question. I'm not sure about that.

But the fact that we haven't heard any rumors about a Bogut trade or anything yet means that GS still doesn't know for sure about KD, or even how confident they are.

Ugh, West pushed the right buttons with Durant: not good.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

If KD was going back to OKC it would have been announced by now.  Same with GS if he just wants to join forces with them.   He's waiting for fireworks and to make sure everything is in order.

This ^

Is the best theory I've heard so far.

He's just going through the process hearing Riley out and OKC.   That may or may not have happened with Aldridge where Riley changed his mind but lightning doesn't necessariily strike twice.  All signs point to him coming here.

I was looking forward to reading it until I saw Broussard's name.

"Multiple teams have been told to expect Durant's decision Monday. Hearing more and more it won't be based on money."

Unfortunately, we might not know tonight!  >:( Still, not based on money is a good sign for the C's!

Yeah, I heard that too.  It's what I was hinting at when I said the Players Tribune writer has to write three articles.  Only one will be published.  Still might be tonight, but probably tomorrow.

I'm guessing he wants to sleep on it a night, too.
Erm, Players Tribune doesn't have writers?

Yes, Players Tribune has writers.  I know one.

Before he signs, but not before he announces his decision. I'm sure GSW has a trade lined up.  Dumping Bogut will be neither difficult nor expensive for them.

Details on Durants call with west.

"Finally, West pointed out to Durant how he believes his overall game is overlooked in Oklahoma City. While Durant is known as one of the greatest scorers of all-time, he does not receive much credit for his rebounding - he led the Thunder with 8.2 boards per game last season - and defense.

West said if Durant goes to a team with other great scorers and wins championships, the other parts of his game will receive recognition and he'll be known as a great all-around player rather than just a great scorer."

HAHAHAHAHA talk about confirmation bias and twisting the facts! He was "overlooked" in OKC, so he should join the best regular season team of all time and a two-time MVP to not be "overlooked" anymore!

Love this quote from KD from 2010:

Joining Golden State would be 10x more anti-competitive than what LeBron did in 2010.  I'll lose all respect for KD if he does that.

It totally sounds like Broussard made all of that up.

Details on Durants call with west.

We probably said the same thing, except said his legacy would basically be tarnished if he joined Curry. It's not his team. He should've won this year, but blew a 3-1 series lead. No one is going to forget that his team choked and then he signed with the team he lost too.

I officially hate Jerry West now. They don't need another Superstar. It's rediculous!!!!

Haha someone posted that earlier and you just know he'd get eaten alive by this hypocrisy if he did that lol
