If he wants a ring it's golden state. If he wants to cement his legacy... It's Boston. He can build his name with nothing to show for it in okc with the likelihood of Russell leaving. Bin Boston he'd be amongst legends even if he doesn't win a title
Yeah. If he wants to get Steph another ring, he'll go to Golden State. Fans there aren't going to care either way - on account of them being a frontrunning 73 win team already. They can only go down from here. ALso, fan opinion is about to turn against them - it happens with every dominant team. Once they get KD, there'll be an all-out backlash against them. They will be the enemy. Durant will seem like an anti-competitive wussy. They will be seen as the evil empire that everyone needs to dethrone. People are going to start to hate Draymond Green. Durant will take a major hit statistically as he is relegated to just another splash brother. He'll anger Nike by helping Under Armour's meal ticket continue to stay on top. All-around, it's a bad decision for him... but if he really really wants jewelry, it's an ok choice for him.
Or he can go to Boston, become a legend, and win his own championship with a support cast that is ready-made to go to war with him. A top 5 offensive team last year adding the greatest offensive player in the game. A top 13 defense that just filled their most glaring weakness with a defensive big - should immediately be a top 5 defense. A team that will only continue to improve over the next few years.
I've been saying for months now... I legitimately like Boston's chances more than any team not Oklahoma. And staying in Oklahoma would be a bad decision for him.
Bottom line is, despite what the idiots in the media are saying (they are conditioned to sell big names, because that's what casuals get excited about - they don't focus on the finer points of basketball), Boston is the best choice for him. Whether or not he makes that choice is up to him.
