It's starting to look like Riley's meeting with Durant could come down to, "Just don't sign with Celtics." Clips look out after their moves.

If Durant is truly considering deciding as soon as tonight. then Heat hardly enter meetings in position of strength (let alone cap).

LOL

I was wondering about this tweet. Is he meaning just because we're in the East with Miami?

Yeah, pretty much.  The Heat have no chance at Durant.  So what's Riley possibly going to talk about?

Yeah that's the only other thing that concerns me- Riley convincing KD35 not to sign with Boston.

Celtics' hands are full dealing with 2-3 powerhouses in the West in signing him.

I wouldn't be worried about that, no one's going to pay much attention to a team badmouthing another option.

Apparently, it worked last year.

Agreed. Riley is super competitive. And hates Danny Ainge.

Kevin Durant has concluded his meeting with the Miami Heat. He will meet with the Thunder in NY later today & then hunker down to decide.

If Kevin Durant agrees to join, I think Wade takes a hometown discount to stay in Miami and finish his career there + to play alongside Durant while getting to finish his career playing for Championships in Miami.

The news around Bosh has been more hopeful lately. It sounds like he will return. Miami are giving medical info to free agents. They obviously feel that information is positive enough to convince FAs that Bosh is very likely to return. Strange turnaround from a few weeks ago but it does look like a situation that has changed.

You're all selling KD short. You think he's that dumb to be persuaded to forget Boston in favor of taking a worse option?

Riles doesn't know how to use the Jedi mind trick last I heard.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

That wasn't badmouthing Phoenix, that was touting the approach that worked in Miami, and it may or may not have pushed him to San Antonio.  Not really the same thing.

For those who feel hopeful that Durant might sign with BOS, is there any reason why he's giving OKC the last meeting?

Miami isn't a great sports town..I don't know why anyone would want to play there aside from avoiding an income tax and of course, "culture"  ;)

Seriously, I'm practically trying to make up excuses to not go to weekend grills and whatnot. Something could HAPPEN! And I might not find out about it instantly!

I think Durant has a house or a luxury apartment or something in Miami.

He must like they city. Riley has that in their favor.

I'm going through the 7 stages of Durant right now.

Anger ...how dare he make us wait!

Bargaining...if he comes here I'll be a good person for a month!

Pleading.....Oh God oh please let him come here!

Fear...what if he doesn't come here?

Optimism....I know he'll come here.

Pessimism...he's never coming here.

Pain...oh my tummy!
