Do we ever forget a draft around here?

Meanwhile, I will continue to believe that the Celtics front office still know a lot more about the prospects and what constitutes a good trade then impatient fans.

Appeal to authority fallacy here is strong

Trusting the group that has created a title over impatient fans is always the better gamble.

Are you really trying to make an "I told you so" thread about the draft before we see any of the guys we picked play a game?  Christ, we haven't even seen Summer League yet

We've seen many summer leagues with the supposed "next big thing" to make an accurate prediction.  Don't get your hopes up.

If I have Garnett, Paul, and Ray...I'll would've created a title as well.  Hell, I would've created two because I wouldn't have traded Perkins.

Or there are also 29 other teams for you to support?
Maybe you will like their decision on draft day?

Not really sure what this has to do with my post, but w/e

Anyone that takes Summer League as a predictor for how a player will do in the NBA is basing too much off a couple of games.  Anyone who calls someone a bust based on just their rookie season is getting ahead of themselves as well.  But at least people like that have enough patience to see the picks play before they call them busts
I'm bitter.

Truth.  And there's a lot of GM's out there with the "knowledge" that have gotten their asses canned or their team in dire straits.  We got lucky and had Kevin mchale in our corner.  Let's not kid ourselves.

Difference is this group put that team together.  And it wasn't in year one.

So, trust the group that did that vs. the impatient fan.

Kind of an easy choice ..

I'm certainly not planning on it. Also it's possible to both express trust in what they did at the draft and lament who was available to them. There's no mystery that they could have drafted different players, but aside from Danny's tell-all memoirs (I can hope) we'll never know for sure what was offered for a trade.

I think everyone here will be holding Jaylen's career against guys like Bender, Dunn, Hield and Murray. That's just accountability. That doesn't mean that the fans don't support Jaylen or that we wouldn't trust Danny. It's simple enough to say, "yeah, I wouldn't have done that, but drafts are hard."
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

You brought up summer league and I responded accordingly

What is the point of the hierarchical picks if teams aren't predicting how good or great these players are going to be?  By your "logic" Sixers wouldn't have picked Simmons at number 1 if they didn't predict how great he will do in the league BASED ON SOLID EVIDENCE OF HOW HE DID IN COLLEGE.

A case can be made for exactly the opposite of you just said.

Make it

Danny Ainge has:

Obtained a first round choice for a coach that wanted to leave, and replaced him with probably the most appealing young coach in the league

Assembled a very young roster that won 48 games and that should improve next year even with no moves

Positioned the team with the most favorable contract situation in the league by far

In a league with insane inflation everywhere except with home grown rookies, obtained far and away the largest cache of first round draft choices in the league. This includes 3 consecutive Nets picks just as that franchise  is undergoing a complete collapse and is the clear favorite for last place in the league.

Gotten us meetings with the league's free agent elite for the first time in decades

_______

It is fair to say that he now has to close the deal and organize what he has into a contender, but his performance in the last 3 years has been spectacular.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
This year's draft will absolutely effect the team for a long time. However, the idea that you can already judge a draft class before any of them even practice with the team is ridiculous.

Come on, just because you didn't like who the C's drafted doesn't mean that it's going to be a disaster for the franchise. You sound like a Knick's fan who booed Porzingis draft night only to look like a fool almost immediately.
DKC:  Rockets

I can't make any sense out of this post. Can you please explain what you said here? What do you mean by hierarchical picks? I'm so confused about how you took what BJ said about not being too quick to rush to judgement and got to this confusing conclusion. Please, explain.

It's a good set up but times running out.

I guess there is a need to Be the first 'I told you so' just in case.

Hope I remember this thread so I can bump it next spring.

Or maybe no one will care and we will be to busy celebrating.  :)
