Seems like Duncan replacement.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

[dang] I woulda gave that to Barnes.  Danny sleepin again
Did you see how Barnes played in the Finals? Horrible. It made me question whether he could carry a team if he wasn't playing with the likes of Curry, Green and Klay. Not worth a max in my opinion.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
At least Dallas got GSW's 5th and 6th best players. That should be awesome for them!

What is Cuban trying to accomplish in Dallas now? The Bogut trade seemed like a favor to GS more than anything. Is he really just happy making the playoffs?
Typical Cuban, all sizzle, no steak.

Bogut was going to land somewhere. Honestly, why do people keep picking on deals like these? They aren't helping Golden State, Golden State would've had multiple partners.

And what do you expect Cuban to do if none of the Free-Agents he's targeted in the last 2 years have signed there?

I think it's a terrible contract for Barnes, but not in the least unworkable or debilitating for the future finances of the team.

They have A LOT of cap space for the future.

Looks like a Golden State vs San Antonio NBA western Conf Finals...I see no one close to those 2 in the West
I like that Utah team. I'd give them a shot at crashing that party.
I wouldn't rule out Oklahoma City, though think LA Clippers have to be up there as well.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

The Spurs trying to beat the Warriros going big? Maybe not a bad idea.

But, no, let's stay in the West and give Lebron the red carpet all the way to the Finals. That's not even a shot at Gasol, either.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

If I were a Dallas fan I'd expect him to have a plan and stop throwing crap at the wall hoping it sticks. It's pretty clear he's afraid to rebuild.

I was at the Mavs site. They're really happy with the moves and they think it's their best offseason so far.

The Mavs and Thunder are two of the saddest teams in the league right now.

Ain't that the truth!  Cuban is in denial and the Thunder can go through the motions this season and look forward to losing Westbrook next summer, unless they trade him first, which seems likely.

Making SAS even older and even slower.
Well after today's events, anything less than 82 wins for Golden State is going to be a disappointment.  THey could win 72 games and people would say Durant made them worse.  There's one less contender in the league with OKC likely toiling away in mediocrity.   And with the Spurs aging out, they might not be much of a threat either.

League just got a bit weaker.   THere's one less marquee franchise today.  Spurs gotta do what they can to stay relevant.

Since winning the title, Dallas has 4 first round playoff exits and missed the playoffs once.  Cuban has been chasing free agents and striking out for years, yet still has no real plan for rebuilding.
