Yup. Problem is I don't think Atlantas willing to do that.

Sounds like Atl isn't willing to give up that extra year. They're seeing Bazemore probably leaving for roughly $18-$20M, and they might legitimately be thinking of rebuilding, which makes sense for them at this point.

I'd let Horford walk and shop Milsap hard to try and replenish some young talent and/or draft picks. This would be a good year to tank with several Eastern teams already getting much better in New York and Philly, not to mention a loaded draft next year.

Eh, I still don't think he automatically takes a 5 year deal just because they give it to him. If they don't add anything and lose Bazemore, then they're a borderline playoff team in a slightly improved East after losing Teague, too. I think he'd go with a four year max at a place like Boston or Houston rather than just play there for the extra year in a losing environment.
