  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Being the #3 pick i could see the argument for starting him but he's not better than Crowder at this time.

So I think drafting Jaylen means we let Turner walk and let Brown come in with Smart off the bench.

I like Turner but must say this is way better for Brown's development..may cost us a few wins but meh..
Thoughts?

There's a chance Brown  is better than we thought, and winds up better than Jae after the All-Star break. But that's the optimist in me.
The pessimist in me beats the crap out him for having outlandish thoughts though.

So we would be looking at a potential bench unit of Rozier-Smart-Brown-Olynyk-PF?

I think Brown just becomes the backup for Crowder and you see Turner play at SG more often

IT-Smart-Rozier
AB-Turner-Young/Hunter
Crowder-Brown-Young/Hunter
KO-Yabu-Jerebko
Amir-Zizic-FA

I doubt any of those 2nd round guys will sniff the team. They'll probably get waived or traded before regular season starts.

agree with this, esp since Brown is raw. Being good defensively though will make him playable kinda like smart his rookie year.

Turner leaves. Smart is 6th man. Jaylen plays 15-20mpg.

I think we will see him on the floor in small ball with JC as PF.

horrible picks all around. Now we drafted a guy who most believe will be a role player......with the #3 pick.

We could have taken care of our problem at CENTER by trading for Okafor, instead we get Brown, a guy who will come off the bench.

I honestly could have done much better than DA the last 2 drafts.....and use the search function if you don't believe....what an idiot

It seems like with Smart and now Brown they value these guys who have the build and defensive versatility and are banking on the idea they can develop their offensive games under Stevens.

I dont know if its going to work but they are either gonna be proven geniuses or we likely just hit our win ceiling with these type of guys last year.

Okafor is an empty stats guy, if we were to trade for a sixers big it would be Noel. Noway you could have done better than Ainge, the fact that you want Okafor is proof.

"instead we get Brown, a guy who will come off the bench." Uh, just because a rookie comes of the bench it means you drafted a bum. The only rookie we draft that may have started for us is Simmons. Ingram, Dunn, Hield, Murray etc will all come of the bench.

"Now we drafted a guy who most believe will be a role player"- Where are you getting that crap? Brown is projected to be either a star or a bust. That was the risk with him, no one thought he would be a middle guy. better go back to playing 2k and go be a Celtics Owner there.

This. I'm looking forward to seeing Crowder and Brown spend some time together sharing the forward spots. Turner can be resigned and play SG between Brown and Smart in the second unit.

Still too many players, though, and Philly still has to trade some centers.
