If it sounds too good to be true .....well.  ....

not giving up the 3 rd and getting that much just sounds like a lot of wishful thinking .

I do like Middleton though .   Definelty a CBS type of guy.

We really really need Oakfor or Noel .

After looking at Monroes contract he has a Player Option after next year. With the Rise in cap i would assume he declines this. So one year of Monroes contract wouldnt be a killer long term.

I talked with a few bucks fans on Twitter. They say he's just full of Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. and makes up stuff
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

This proposed trade would certainly confirm that theory.

I could see the hang up over the other player.  Imagine it would be a discussion centering around Bradley (whom the Bucks would covet the most), Rozier (whom we would want to give up) or Smart (I could see Kidd really wanting him on his team).

Who has more value to us, Smart or Bradley? I would say Bradley, but a case can be made for Smart.

Boston ends up with middleton, monroe and noel?
So we get Monroe, who couldn't play next to Drummond, and Noel, who couldn't play next to Okafor. What a fantastically convoluted way to completely implode.

Neither Detroit nor Phily had three shooters like Thomas, Bradley and Middleton on the court at once - that largely offsets any front court shooting concerns.

Noel would be the perfect guy to cover Monroe's defensive limitations, and Monroe actually improved his midrange jumper significantly last year (remember hes only 25 too - not yet a finished product).

Monroe is a far less one dimensional player then Okafor is.  He can pass, rebound, get to the line, and has a better jumper.  Okafor can do nothing bar score in the post.
I don't see any evidence that Monroe improved anything. His shooting has been all over the place, and isn't appreciably better now than it was 2 or 5 years ago. And he still takes the bulk of his shots within 10 ft.

Monroe ahot 45% from 3-10 feet, 43% from 10-16 feet and 39% on twos >16 feet.  All were career highs.
Monroe's career-high on twos >16 ft. is .429 and he shot that in his second year in the league. He also shot .410 from 10-16 feet a couple of years ago. So as I said, he's been all over the place.

That's saving grace right there.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

So 16, 23, & a player would net the Celtics Middleton & Monroe?

That sounds too good to be true.

sure does...especially for Milwaukee...why would they give up a potential (All)-Star in Middleton and Monroe for picks??? but i do like it...

Like seeing mayhem before the draft....

Maybe because we are giving up Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley??
I'd do it. We select Dunn, get Monroe and Middleton.

PG: Kris Dunn
SG: Khris Middleton
SF: Jae Crowder
PF: Amir Johnson
C: Greg Monroe

I really like that squad.

16, 23, and Bradley for Middleton alone would be great. Use the 3 on Dunn.

Not sure I want Monroe's contract...

See my above point. The Bucks wouldn't even trade Middleton straight up for the 3. They're not going to deal him for non-lottery flotsam plus Bradley. The cost to do business here is taking on Monroe.

Maybe. Or maybe they covet Bradley? After all, Parker is more of a three and wants to be their offensive juggernaut. Moving Middelton for Bradley allows them to put Parker at three, give more shooting opportunities to Parker and stellar defense at the two.

If they coveted Bradley they would have just asked for him and the 3 and we'd have a deal done by now.

I VERY much doubt boston wpuld have given Bradley AND #3 for middleton.  Massive overpay.

Yeah, but hes never put together a season where he had solid numbers from all three of those areas, as he did last season.

"According to sources, the Bucks and Celtics are still exploring a potential deal that would send Khris Middleton to the Celtics. Middleton, who can also play small forward, is coming off a breakthrough season. He averaged 18.2 points and 3.8 rebounds. He is a top-flight shooter, connecting on 40 percent of his treys last season."

"One of the trade scenarios, a source said, is packaging Khris Middleton with veteran center Greg Monroe, whom the Bucks have been seriously shopping. It is known the Celtics have had interest in Monroe for a long time. In return for Middleton and Monroe, the Bucks could possibly acquire two first-round picks from the Celtics in today’s draft: Nos. 16 and 23, along with another player."

If you get Middleton without giving up #3, that would be incredible.  I don't totally get the logic leap, though.  Just a couple days ago we were rumored to be offering #3 for Middleton (which would be a good deal for us) and the Bucks were turning us down.

Throwing this one in the "posturing"/"fake rumor" bin.

To be fair, it'll land in the bin right next to that 3-for-Middleton swap.

None of this stuff can be taken as truth until it's officially announced.

#3 for Middleton at least made logical sense.  He's a terrific player and likely better than anything available there.  He plays defense and is an outstanding shooter.

If you figure the price for Jimmy Butler is #3 + Bradley + Smart + Crowder, I'd far FAAAAR rather trade #3 straight up for Middleton.   At worst, Middleton gives you 75% of what Butler gives you, but with better shooting.  At best, he ends up better than Butler.

But hey, if you can get Middleton for late 1sts, you obviously have to do it.  And you know... maybe you can flip Middleton + additional assets to Chicago for Jimmy BUtler or something and keep the #3 pick for another deal.

It's nice to dream.   I feel we're setting ourselves up for a big disappointment, though.
