I still cant believe how many are so down on Okafor ... Hes a 20 year old rookie who averaged almost 18pp with 8 rbs and over a block a game... Bad team yes but the kid can play

Ikr.  It's unbelievable actually.  That's one guy you jump on every single time when you have the chance.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would

You really think you're getting three starting caliber guys from #3, #16 and #23 if you keep the pics?? No way.
You'd be shocked, but I don't really think a team needs eight starters.

On one hand, having three starters coming off the bench g9ves you a hell of s lot of depth.

On the other hand, having 8 starters gives you a LOT of flexibility for making additional deals for a guy like Jimmy Butler of Demarcus Cousins - those teams might value talent over picks.

Monroe + Bradley + Olynyk could be enough to get the Kings talking about a Cousins trade.

Cousins + Noel makes a lot of sense as a front court...as does Monroe + WCS for Sacramento.
And a "hell of a lot of depth" gives you a valiant exit in the 1st round at the hands of Atlanta. Thanks but no thanks.

A couple of other things:

1. If Monroe + Bradley + spare parts could get you Cousins, he'd be playing in Milwaukee right now.

2. If Monroe could play with (someone like) WCS, he'd still be in Detroit.

Having both of them didnt work for PHI.  Why would it work for us?
We have the best coach in the league who just balanced Smart, IT, Avery, Rozier, and ET for a year.
Yes, yes, we know, he is William Wallace.
William Wallace has nothing on CBS. One is a Disney legend for fanboys. The other is the best coach in the NBA

Talks continuing is a little interesting. Let's see what Danny can do
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

good points koz. i have a question for you. assuming any of this actually happens and monroe goes to boston, dispite all his flaws, do you think he would help the celtics more than sully does?

i am thinking that CBS can get a lot of use out of monroe as the first/second big man off the bench and deploy him in particular matchups.

your thoughts?

I'm sure he will help, but he can't play PF (and neither can Noel). So I don't see any point in trying to get both of them. I'm also not sure I want to allocate Monroe's salary slot to the "first big man off the bench", so there's that.

I haven't seen anything validating this is even a rumor

Here we go.

Quote
The Philadelphia 76ers are increasing their efforts to acquire the No. 3 pick from the Boston Celtics in Thursday night's NBA draft, league sources tell ESPN.

Numerous rivals described the 76ers as the most active team in circulation, with a trade involving Nerlens Noel looking more and more likely.

The Sixers, as ESPN first reported earlier this month, also have been aggressively trying to move Jahlil Okafor and, according to sources, are prepared to trade either Okafor or Noel -- or both -- to meet their draft objectives.

I said this in the other thread but we had better not do this. The last thing I want is picks 23,24, and 26. Add Noel on top of that? Ugh
