...the kid has the highest ceiling and can do it all. Will he need time? Sure.

For a chance at a superstar, I can wait.

Bender will NEVER be a superstar.

At least it's very, very, very, very unlikely.

If he becomes as good as Al Horford then I will consider it a massive over-achievement.
He likely won't become a superstar in the traditional sense because a lot of what stretch bigs do does not show up in the box score.  He will always be used as a secondary ball handler and scorer, his rebounding numbers will be limited because he is always on the perimeter on both ends of the floor, his numbers will fluctuate from night to night and will be viewed as inconsistent etc.  The role of a stretch big is a thankless job in a lot of ways, at the same time it is absolutely vital in today's NBA.

TP Great analysis!

Guys 7 footers who can pass and shoot with some solid ball handling skills is super rare!! Plus this kid actually wants to play defense and protect the rim!

He's a two way player with immense upside.

Bender may not help in year 1-3 but realistically we don't contend until LeBron retires.

Just being honest.

He is years away.

I say there is less than 1% chance Danny takes this guy .

After the success of the last two years, nobody is thinking three years down the pipe.  That's why everybody is looking for draft options of players who can help us now...and free agents.

I for one will not cede the championship to Cleveland until Lebron hits the rocking chair.  Just as GSW showed this year as they thought they could coast to another championship.  Winning it all can make you complacent, which is why there aren't a lot of back to back winners in any sport.

Bender may be great...but others are ready now.

Fortunately, the adults have prevailed.

Just why would that get leaked right before the draft?  A little while ago they showed the war room on NBA tv and Danny looked like he was ready to sit down to a buffet meal.  I trust Danny maybe they like Chriss better but I will believe it when I see it.

As Jackie Mac says, the only logical thing to take from that report is that they WILL take him.

Well hopefully this is a misdirection.

We don't need any more 2nd tier point guards or combo guards.

We need a real difference maker.

Bender is going to have a HOF Superstar career easy.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bender, Chriss and Labissiere are all gone by 7 if not earlier.  They must all be stupid if they do that though...

that pick is getting traded. Whether tonight or in the near future.

Play to win.  Always.
