Just give him Turner's minutes as ballhandler. Dunn has a bigger wingspan and is a better defender. Only reason we wouldn't have room to play him, is if we resign Turner or must give more minutes to Rozier.

So we are ditching one of our better 6'7" players and giving his minutes to an unproven 6'3" rookie.

No thank you

Given that the Celtics aren't competing for a title next season, and probably won't even make the ECF, I don't see why developing a highly talented rookie over the course of the season would be a bad thing - unless he really struggles and proves that he isn't ready for NBA minutes.  In time he may be a better player than Turner.

He better be, lol ;D.

Can we clarify? BR did not report this. Andy Katz reported this. Andy Katz works for ESPN. BR was only the intermediary for OP to receive the news.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Newest Vertical Mock Draft: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/version-v--the-vertical-s-2016-nba-mock-draft-235403807.html?soc_src=mail&soc_trk=ma

3 - Kris Dunn

16 - Ivica Zubac

23 - Cheick Diallo

Ugh.

Cheick Diallo is such a cool name though. And he is on something naturally the way he runs around like a headless chicken

True, and because his name is pronounced 'Shaq', iirc, we could have our very own Cheicktin' a Fool, or even Cheicktin' on Shaqtin' ;D. Actually, never mind, take the guy - we can have so much fun with this, lol.  We should probably get Danuel House, too, just to replace Sully's and Smart's hair ;D.

Dunn is already a senior .

His ppg (16) is not that great for a so called best player of the draft

"Celtics to take Dunn..."

Who told Katz?

Ainge has just announced to the league that he'll trade Dunn, Smart, IT and or Rozier.

Danny will put Betts and Pedroia into the deal if it'll get it done.

"I am Danny Ainge, if I don't have the guy you want? I'll trade for him, I'll pick him in the draft or I'll steal him mid season for a bag of balls and then trade him to you...take your pick or one of my 16 picks in the next three years...I gotta a lot of ponies."

This week is his "moment" isn't it?

You know better than this. Scoring is not everything.

Is Dunn better than Smart? That's what I'm hearing/reading so trade Smart for Noel? Go with a defensive grinding team that can't shoot!

I believe Dunn is on a whole other level compared to Smart - not even close. The only area where Smart has an advantage over Dunn is physical strength.  In every other aspect of the game Dunn is either on par with Smart (defense, rebounding, size) or significantly better (slashing, ball handling, passing, athleticism).

3 years ago Smart was better than Dunn was this year and they are the same age.

Also Id say Smarts a better defender and rebounder and Dunn turns it over at a higher rate.

I think if they draft Dunn, I bet he gets packaged with some of our picks. For Noel and next years #1 pick or the Fakers (they have the Fakers pick next year right?). Giving us 2 lottery picks next year.  ;)

It will be Dunn or Brown. If it's Dunn, a guard will be traded.

I saw Brown hit about 7 outside shots in a row tonite on NBA network. He can shoot.
Took graduate courses at Berkeley. Smart kid.

Dunn tells me a trade is in the works.

yes but that is what we need

we don't need another guy that can do a little bit of this and that

we have how many guys that can do that now??

we need scorers/shooters

Listen I trust Danny .  If he feels the Celtics are bound to get a pg,sf, pf one way or the other (and we can with all the picks we have) then pick dunn at #3

Maybe he likes someone at 16 that is kind of like Brown, not as high upside but lower downside (because its a later pick). For example Richardson or Dembry  or at 23

I know Danny and CBS  like players that can handle to ball.  And guards are usually the best at this. But we can't keep drafting guards non stop.   We need to give confidence to the ones we have now and also distribute mins properly so they can develop/grow.

I just hope if dunn is the pick,  please trade Rozier .  Lessen the logjam

If Ainge drafts either Brown or Dunn, he should be fired before the draft is even over.

When people are free to do as they please, they usually imitate each other.

A lot of teams are interested in Dunn and he's by far the best PG in the draft.  If 3 through 8 are pretty much equal as many feel, then Dunn may be the best value.  I do like the idea of messing up another teams draft which may in turn totally screw up the first round.  The trade offers may get considerably better once that happens.

Fratello said tonite on NBA network that Bender needs to play another year in Israel.
