I gotta say, if we keep him, a Dunn-Smart backcourt would be devastating. Add Crowder's defense on the wing, and teams will have a really tough time against us. Trade Bradley for a center.

Didn't it come out that Dunn wouldn't give his medicals to a team with a lot of guards? I'd be furious if Ainge picked a player who had two shoulder surgeries without first looking at the medicals.

I also am not a huge fan of Dunn because of his age, position and the hitch in his shot but overall what would bother me the most is drafting a player with injury history without getting his medicals.

He hasn't had any shoulder problems since he had the last surgery done two years ago.  Plus, Ainge resigned Bradley after his ankle and shoulder problems, so why not this kid?  I get that every case is different, but still.  After all, he took Sully when other teams were scared off by his back problems that eventually required surgery during his rookie year, didn't he?

Taking Sully because he had tremendous value in the 20's. He took Bradley because he was a great value pick in the teens. Picking at 3 the stakes are much higher this time.

I honestly can't believe how shortsighted some of you guys are being. 

Many posters here act like we have Bradley and IT locked up for the next 5 years.  We don't.

Do you guys actually think we are going to resign IT when his contract is up? HAHAHAHAHA.... NO way does Danny resign IT at 20 mil a year, NO WAY.

We need PG depth.  We currently have ONE POINT GUARD.  Ya'll think Rozier is ready to play 15-20 minutes a night? Not even close to ready.

We need to think for the future..... in 2 years, IT and Bradley are GONE, and there is an incredibly slim chance that Danny will pay to extend them. (Actually, zero chance he pays for IT, slim one he pays for Bradley, really slim)

 +1 good point. Point is Thomas is our best point, and he's not a real point. Plus Thomas will be 30 years old soon, many expect him to decline quickly at that point.

Thomas is only 27, doesn't turn 28 until February.

Yeah, but players his size typically don't have long careers.

That may be true, but his point was that IT "will be 30 soon," which isn't the case.

I know, I'm just trying to point out that there is precedent, here, although I certainly wouldn't take a guy for that reason, alone.

Really?  Wow.  That would great for us if we got him and things panned out that way, for once.

Dunn makes the most sense moving forward.

If we're to make tades moving forward we're going to have to trade out some of our talent.

Our best talent is in the guard positions.

Logic dictates some of those guards will have to be included in any potential trades as talent gets talent in trades.

Dunn himself will have trade value, however if one of the other guards gets traded out Dunn is the instant replacement.
