If we had Pick 1 or 2, we would talk about how Simmons and Ingram would be the next superstars in the league and how the pick is so valuable that it's untouchable unless its for a guy like Cousins or Paul George.

Alas, with the 3rd pick we are talking (convincing ourselves in any way possible) about how this draft is deep and how the players in picks 3-8 could be better than Simmons/Ingram

And of course if rumors are true the #3 pick isn't as valuable as we thought it was but I bet it's all media speculation and Ainge is planning.

And what if we trade the pick? we just waisted a year of evaluating rookie prospects...  ;)

TP as far as I'm concerned Celtics were the 1st losers on lottery night.

Does the #3 pick hold value? Sure but imagine what kind of superstar we'd be talking about with 1 or 2. Either draft your franchise guy or trade for him. Danny is going to have to get super creative to pull a superstar out of the 3 slot. I just don't see it happening.

I agree with you no matter how much we try to convince ourselves this is a deep draft. This draft is deep for role players and the league will produce a couple gems no one saw coming but for franchise guys we're fooling ourselves that there is one at 3.
ok fine

Honestly I'm happy with the 3rd pick. I mean, considering there was a chance we could drop to #5 or 6 that night, if you told me beforehand we would keep #3 I would be ecstatic.

Also consider we made the playoffs and still have the #3. That's something special.
