Latest reports have the Celtics offer of the #3 for one of Gordon Hayward, Khris Middleton, Jabari Parker, and Jimmy Butler being rebuffed.

Interestingly, those players were the #2 (Jabari), #9 Hayward, # 30 (Butler), and #39 (Middleton) picks respectively in their own drafts.

I have thought for a while that we as fans over value our assets.

FYI, none of these deals get made until draft night anyway so this much ado about nothing.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Funny to realize that none of those teams made the playoffs either.
That's fine, we keep our players and assets and grow slowly but steady.

Pretty sobering that the C's assets are not liked around the league as we thought. With Cleveland looking to have a 3 year window right now. I say stay the course and draft best player available.

We have no idea if Ainge just offered #3 and was rejected or offered a substantial package of #3 #16 and Bradley for example and was rejected. It could just be that Ainge is lowballing them.

Someone out there is trying hard to devalue the Celtics assets.  They want something.

The excuses of a Celtics fan.
Last year on draft night when no deals got done:

"it's hard for teams to make a trade on draft night because teams fall in love with players, it's much easier at the trade deadline"

At the trade deadline when no deals got done:

"Teams don't want to be lowballed, and will wait for their draft position at the end of the season before making rash decisions"

Let's be serious here, teams are growing weary of trading with Ainge because we always somehow get the upper hand.. furthermore our players are good but not as good as people around here make them out to be, they're also good because they play so well together. Do folks already forget "We are one superstar"
What was Crowder in Dallas? A bench player who rarely saw the court.
Jerebko in Detroit? A Nobody who rarely played on a terrible team
IT on Phoenix? A problem on a terrible team

Our record and contributions from last year are a product of CBS system, not of individual play.
Hopefully a few solid FA's see that and if not we can build through the draft like the Warriors did.
I can't blame the Bulls for not wanting a #3 pick in a mediocre draft for a All Star
Or Utah for not wanting to give up Hayward for the #3. He's a top 7 SF in the NBA which is arguably the most important (and hardest to fill) position in the NBA.

Remember "We are one superstar" funny how folks around here think everyone on our roster is there own superstar when it comes to trade value.

I have thought for a while that we as fans over value our assets.

To an almost comical degree, some folks seem incapable of imagining being on the other side of the deal. It is particularly laughable how valuable some people think 16, 23, 31 and 35 are. Odds are heavily against those picks producing a starter, let alone an all-star.
