Thought worth posting since he is working out with team today.

A scout there suggested he is going to be a poor man's Durant when he blossoms.

I'd sign up for that.

Good read..

Man this guy is so tempting.. I just intrigued to see what CBS can do with him over time.  Yes a couple years but It could be totally worth it when we actually need it to be.

Poor man's Durant is a bit ridiculous, and I'm a big Bender fan, but I know they got to get their clicks.

I like the Giannis/Batum/Parsons/Mirotic type of player-maker comparison. Depending on how his scoring develops, I could see him developing his own arch-type.

So no one is concerned about the Tim Welsch report of how he sucked in his workouts. His words not mine. Don't kill the messenger.

It was shared around the sixers noel/okafor trade talks thread by a poster. Tim Welsh said it on CSNNE last night apparently. He said the overseas workout was really bad.

Another new article on Bender by Steve Kyler, Both articles come off as puff pieced  tom. I'm concerned and intrigued by Bender for the record.

Interesting. I'm still a fan of his. I'm on record saying that I think he will be a top 3 player in this draft. But things like this are concerning.

Did not see that. Saw video of Tim Welsh speaking quite highly, saying he could become another Porzingis or Nowitski if a team is patient with him.

Smart's first workout was awful, too, so maybe the workout today will be more decisive. If he still sucks, then they won't draft him.

I will say this: if he had a great workout, people would be saying, "But what about the chairman Yi Jianli?" and "Anyone can look good in a workout."

That goes both ways. He seems like the type of player who thrives in a team setting, not an individual setting. How many guys wow in a workout but don't know how to play with teammates?

Still concerning, but I think it can be looked at different ways.

For a guy like this his work out could be outstanding and It wouldn't mean he was ready to hit the floor.. He is going to need developing.. It is going to take him some time and some great coaches to help him hit his ceiling..  IF he is willing to learn and accept coaching then he could be a top 10 player in the league in 3 to 4 years..

Just gotta ask yourself is it worth it.. the wait and the growing pains.

I think given the lack of background on him vs Porzingus for example, the workouts were going to be very important. No one's expecting him to be NBA ready.
