I could live with either of these frontcourts:

Bender-Okafor or Love-Noel

So Cleveland is apparently trying to get in the first round of the draft. I'm wondering if we can entice them with one or both of our later picks for Love, though they'd still probably insist upon Bradley or Crowder in the deal.

I'm very intrigued by a possible Love/Noel frontcourt added to our current team.

agreed...

Windhorst thinks Cleveland wants Bradley.

Sold.
Id imagine 3 gets you Noel and then some and Bradley + non-core piece gets you Love.

Even those who arent huge Love and Noel fans seem to be behind the idea of  a Love-Noel frontcourt because the complement eachother perfectly.

In a perfect world you get Philly to toss in that lakers or Kings pick or maybe even Saric, but Id imagine the filler with Noel would be a lot closer to Covington stauskas or 24.

I kind of like the idea of a Noel/Olynyk front court pairing.

Oh you mean Dirk/Chandler Mega Lite?

Yup, just take out the "Mega."

Mega is an emphasis on the Lite cause Lite just wasn't Lite enough lol.

Okafor is going to turn into a very solid player. Would love to have him as part of the future here. At Duke he was surrounded by good outside shooters and passed out of the double decently, Not great but will improve. I think if we do this we have to go small with the rest of our lineup and have an outside threat at the 4 that can play good help side D. Who that is i am not sure. But of the two i think i get more excited about Okafor because he can get you two points when you need it and his defense will get better with time.

Completely agree...all these 3 pointers have devalued a guy who can get you 2 points pretty much anytime you go to him...Even the Warriors could have used him in these playoffs.

I want Okafor badly.  C'mon Danny!  Easy choice.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my
blood would’ve been green.  -  Bill "Greatest of All Time" Russell

Looking at the suggested moves in total Okafor cannot be the option. If we put together a package around Bradley to get Love and then use the #3 for Okafor, we would easily become the worst defensive team in the league.

With Bradley, Smart and Crowder we can hide IT, but there's no way to hide all 3. If Love is a reality I would rather we get a package with Noel and Stauskas and a pick

It seems pretty simple to me, you trade the #3 for either Okafor or Noel plus the #24, then you package #16,#23, and #24 to move up to #12 and pick someone who falls.

Evident Bradley is an important part of their defense. Team fell apart against Atlanta when he went down. Ainge knows that.

I would guess Danny is offering a bunch of no.1s (not the #3) to get a Middleton or a Love.

I got what you were saying.  I'm sticking with my response of "take out the Mega."

Agreed. I think if we go with Jahlil we have to go after a quick defensive PF. We cant go for Love. I think if Danny does go after Love then Nerlens is the clear cut guy to get.

My major concern with Okafor is how ball dominant he is (and needs to be to be effective) offensively.  Many of you are pointing out how talented he is and how he will probably keep improving due to his youth.  I don't disagree with either of those statements.  However, I don't see him changing from being a guy who needs to control the ball a lot on offense.
I don't watch College ball.  THey won a national championship right?  From the stats it seems Cook, Winslow and JOnes had no trouble co-existing with him offensively.  I'm sure a guy of his skillset could fit in very well with any offense Stevens cooks up around him.
Duke was built around Okafor, he finished second in player of the year voting. He was really a terrific player. But this was largely because he was SO dominant in the post. He immediately demanded double teams, he was a physical force and a terrifying offensive weapon. Now if he can reach that level of offensive dominance in the NBA, and its certainly not out of the question, his combination of physical tools and post skills are terrific, then he will really be valuable and he will really be a beast worth molding your lineup around. however, if he only gets to very good in the post, his flaws may not be worth putting up with.

Buddy was Dominate in college scoring 25 a game (and most guys don't want him)
KD was Dominate in College dropping 28
Anthony Davis averaged 15/10 and [dang] near 5 blocks a game.. pretty dominate
Okafor averaged 17/8 (1 block)... not sure in what world is this considered Dominance.  Anytime Duke has a player there is all this Christian Laettner pub..  I think they control the media or something.

I'm just asking because I'm not sure myself whether it's better to use #3 on Okafor/Noel or overpay with real dollars and cap space for one of Biyombo/Whiteside and overpay with draft assets for Middleton? This would give us a really nice small ball starting lineup which is the way the modern NBA seems to be trending. Of course, there is no guarantee that we can sign either center.
