I'm starting to think that Ainge is asking for too much and has a bunch of deals contingent on each other. I think I am convincing myself that Ainge is looking to acquire Okafor without giving up #3, so that he can flip Okafor to the Bulls for Butler. Setting the stage for a Rozier, Butler, Crowder, Durant, Horford line up. IT being the 6th man.
This new line of thinking is adorable. The idea that Ainge wants to acquire Noel/okafor so he can flip him for butler.
If okafor or Noel gets you jimmy butler, the 76ers would obviously freakin trade for jimmy butler. That'd be perfect for them. They need an established talent to pair with embiid and Simmons. It would make them a threat in free agency too.
Why they hell would Philly rather add some mediocre prospect at #3 over just adding jimmy butler to their budding young core?
Can't wait for Thursday to arrive.
Except no competent star wants to go to the hell hole that is Philly after their years of sewer-worthy basketball and controversy
You think Butler is happily going to go to a Sixers team? You can say "he doesn't have any choice in the matter at all," but we all know that's not how it really works. The players have a big say in where they go; otherwise, the team gets a bad reputation for not being player-friendly and keeps others from going there.
nobody cares about the past. If they have talent, they have talent. You are assuming they give a [dang] about the last 4 years. Why would they? It's irrelevant. Also, it has to be somewhat appealing to take credit for a "miracle" turnaround.
Based on the nonsense I'm reading over the past couple days, an entirely different roster is well within reach for Philly. They supposedly can flip Noel for #3 to take Dunn. They supposedly have an asset, okafor, that Philly wants for butler. Seems pretty cut and dry to me:
Pg - Dunn
Sg - butler
Sf - saric if he comes over? Or Durant cuz jimmy butler is the magic key to Durant apparently
Pf - simmons
C - embiid
Nice lil team they got going for them. They still would have plenty of money left over to sign a horford or Mike Conley or somethin.
Glad Everyone finally agrees with me that philly is one of most fascinating teams to follow this offseason.
