Simmons to be the first pick is now leaking out everywhere on NBA twitter after his workout.

I don't think that was ever really in doubt. The question was would they end up trading him down for better fitting pieces.

I still find it odd that he ended up working out for Philly after being adamant about not working out for any team last week.

I'm starting to think that Ainge is asking for too much and has a bunch of deals contingent on each other. I think I am convincing myself that Ainge is looking to acquire Okafor without giving up #3, so that he can flip Okafor to the Bulls for Butler. Setting the stage for a Rozier, Butler, Crowder, Durant, Horford line up. IT being the 6th man.
This new line of thinking is adorable.  The idea that Ainge wants to acquire Noel/okafor so he can flip him for butler.

If okafor or Noel gets you jimmy butler, the 76ers would obviously freakin trade for jimmy butler.   That'd be perfect for them.  They need an established talent to pair with embiid and Simmons. It would make them a threat in free agency too.

Why they hell would Philly rather add some mediocre prospect at #3 over just adding jimmy butler to their budding young core?

Can't wait for Thursday to arrive.

Philly isn't trying to win now. They are just now done with the tank. They are years from being where the C's are even at right now. They want younger players to grow together not someone like Butler that doesn't fit their plan.

Except no competent star wants to go to the hell hole that is Philly after their years of sewer-worthy basketball and controversy  ::) You think Butler is happily going to go to a Sixers team? You can say "he doesn't have any choice in the matter at all," but we all know that's not how it really works. The players have a big say in where they go; otherwise, the team gets a bad reputation for not being player-friendly and keeps others from going there.
nobody cares about the past. If they have talent, they have talent.  You are assuming they give a [dang] about the last 4 years.  Why would they?  It's irrelevant.  Also, it has to be somewhat appealing to take credit for a "miracle" turnaround.

Based on the nonsense I'm reading over the past couple days, an entirely different roster is well within reach for Philly.   They supposedly can flip Noel for #3 to take Dunn.  They supposedly have an asset, okafor, that Philly wants for butler.   Seems pretty cut and dry to me:

Pg - Dunn
Sg - butler
Sf - saric if he comes over?  Or Durant cuz jimmy butler is the magic key to Durant apparently
Pf - simmons
C - embiid

Nice lil team they got going for them.  They still would have plenty of money left over to sign a horford or Mike Conley or somethin.

Glad Everyone finally agrees with me that philly is one of most fascinating teams to follow this offseason.

I love that you selectively pick and choose which rumors to believe based on what you hope to be true. lol  ::) But this team you put together is comical. They're going to really draw a Butler trade, Durant, Horford, Conley, etc. based on three rookies (one with a significant, serious injury history that's been playing basketball for all of like five years) and a one-way European prospect that is almost assuredly not coming over until next year. It must be fascinating to live inside this Philly fantasy land that you put out there.

Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back. They may be interesting but they're still not good. They're still coming off a 10 win season.

You've been advocating that the Cs copy their tankathon model for years and here we are. We're still better than Philly. We still have plenty of assets both current and future. We've been the playoffs the last two seasons. And we never had to outright tank seasons or endure 10 win seasons.

Your post started right. The question still is IF they have talent. Guess what? We KNOW we have talent.

PS - they're not getting #3 for Noel. Keep dreaming like all the other Philly fans. So your "nice little roster" goes right out the window when you can't make yet another of your idiotic one sided trade offers happen.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

I don't actually think that's happening. I'm just merging dumb rumors.

If okafor/Noel gets you butler - Philly will trade for butler.

But ...

If butler is the key to getting Durant - Chicago should keep butler and sign durant.

This stuff is silly.

No I haven't.  I've supported the playoff push the last two seasons.

And yes - here we are.... Supposedly, according to some on this forum, trying to acquire one or Philly's valuable assets because Chicago would prefer it in a jimmy butler trade.  Lol.  That's the value of tanking.

thats my biggest regret... That if Philly finally turns it around, I will not be able to keep arguing with myself on celticsblog from my LarBrd33 and Eddie20 accounts.  I'll probably get bored of my Eddie20 persona and create a new character to challenge LarBrd33 on some fresh topic.   That's the biggest bummer of this whole thing ... That my Eddie20 internet personality will no longer have anything to argue about and might end up my like old BBallTim character that I created to argue with LarBrd33 about Rajon Rondo back in the day.  Oh well.

/kidding.  Never change Eddie.

76ers supposedly promise Simmons to take him number one. Still have no rotation-caliber 1's, 2's, or 3's on the roster.

Also supposedly looking to move 24 and 26 to get into top-8 (yeah right).

http://www.thescore.com/nba/news/1047290?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

So, yeah, LarBrd33, Okafor and Noel still up for a number three straight up swap, huh? They've obviously not offered up enough to entice Ainge to give up the number three yet, which means neither of them are worth the number three pick straight up.

am I supposed to read these links or is there something specific you are trying to point out?

There's still plenty of buzz about 3 for Okafor/Noel.  We will see what happens one way or the other.
