Lebron proved he is still the best.  I dislike Lebron but can't deny he is a great player. Lebron > Curry.  That block was a game saver no doubt

Also going back to the Lillard vs Curry argument (another thread I started).  Lillard would have not pulled 3 dud games in a row (finals).   I have high respects for Curry and he is the best shooter in the league.  But just like last years finals performance (for the more than half the time) and now again this season  (when you have strong defenders on him), Curry can be neutralised/ineffective. On both ends

Draymond Green was the GSW mvp for the playoffs imo

I think most will agree that Lebron is the best player in the league. However Steph was the best in the regular season and i do not like peoples revisionist history saying that he shouldn't be. Now maybe it has a lot too do with LBJ coasting in the regular season and when LBJ raises his game in the play offs hes the best, but Curry deserved to be an MVP and Unanimous one at that.

Kyrie Irving was the best player on the court last night.  I get the Lebron love, but don't lose sight that Cleveland loses in 5 without Kyrie, and doesn't win last night either.

The Splash Bros. picked a bad time to go cold last night in 2nd half.

Hold on, let me put on my sunglasses.  The hot takes here are scorching.

Curry was the best player in the league this year.  Confirmed by an MVP.  Lebron was the best player in these Finals.  Confirmed by a Finals MVP.

Outside of your own personal projections, I don't see how anyone can definitively say what Lillard would or would not do.  But to put him in the same conversation as Curry after the season that Curry had?  Based on the past couple of Finals games? C'mon.  That's textbook recency bias if not just plain personal bias.

The answer after last years Finals was Steph though. I guess we just go with whomever wins the last game for you?

Honestly with LeBron, Durant, Steph they are so great as players any one of them can be the MVP any given game. LeBron just ended the season better than Steph, it happens. Steph also happened to be better over the whole season.

The queen is still the all around best player as much as I hate to say it. But I do believe Curry never was right after the injury in the playoffs, he really never got his groove back.

Making that last shot was great, but I really don't get how you could watch LBJ's game last night and think Kryie played better. LBJ was EVERYWHERE on both offense and defense, just relentless effort and plays.

LBJ had a bunch of dumb TOs early in the first quarter he was too amped up. After that he was just golden.

Most Valuable two way players in the league

Lebron
Leonard
Draymond Green

My stance does not change.  You have to be a really good offensive and defensive player in this league to be the best imo.

I agree. Lebron block shot was just as key as Irving 3 pt shot

but both were very good in this series. Irving came on late but at the right time

I agree with all this.

Right now I say Lebron but what if Draymond hadn't been suspended for game 5 and GS closes it out? We'd likely be singing Currys tune.

Steph was never the best player, he did have the best season and deserved the MVP, there is a difference.

The answer after last year's finals was not Steph. [Relatively] No one was calling Steph the best player until this season (just look at the MVP of the finals last year and Lebron vs Steph performance. People were talking about possibly giving the MVP to Lebron even with the loss). People forget the leap Curry made this year after having just made a leap the year before.

I want to see Steph play next year before I decide. My strong suspicion is that he was still very hurt and would not have even been playing if it was the regular season. After his injuries his shot was off, he couldn't get bunnies and he looked slower on the open floor. I am not ready to change my view of the guy after 160 games of brilliance followed by 10 games of mediocre to bad play coming off a pretty injury.
