Cousins is traded to Boston, Durant re-signs in OKC, the Spurs sign Mike Conley and the Warriors lose to the Spurs in the playoffs.

I'd really love to see that happen, but at this point I just really can't see anything happening this year.

Why not?

New coaching/management. They'll once again see if this will work out, and when it fails miserably they'll still probably give it one more attempt.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Spurs sign Conley.
Kings don't resign Rondo yet make the playoffs.
Lakers sign Derozan and barely miss the playoffs.
Nets are the 11th seed.
Bucks trade Monroe at some point.
Celtics win 48 games again.
Kevin Love is not traded.
Celtics make no blockbuster deals on draft night, take Brown 3rd.
Celtics don't make any blockbuster signings in free agency.
KD returns to OKC on a 1+1.
Hawks trade Jeff Teague, lose Horford, resign Bazemore, and make the playoffs.
Dennis Schroeder is Most Improved Player.
Paul Pierce retires for a job as a TV analyst.
Brown averages less than 10 minutes per game.
Kris Dunn wins Rookie of the Year.
Marcus Smart does not improve his shooting substantially.
Celtics resign Jared Sullinger, bring back Amir but not Jonas.
Celtics do sign Dudley, but let Turner walk. Turner signs in Brooklyn or New York.
Rozier has a large impact off the bench.
Cavs repeat, but this time they play the Thunder.
Warriors are not the 1 seed in the West.
Isaiah Thomas is not an All Star.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Yeah unfortunately it could definitely happen but I also think they might want a fresh start and might consider the failed Rondo/Cousins pairing (in terms of results since they didn't make the playoffs) as the last attempt.
