Im all for Brown if we are going to stand pat with our existing back court. We need someone who will attack the basket from the wing position. This team settles for too many jumpers down the stretch.

I agree.  In the last game of the year, the athletes and best 1 on 1 players excelled

The Celtics are locked in to draft Brown with an outside chance of taking Dunn imo

the problem was not taking jumpers, it was not making jumpers that killed this team.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I think Brown has a future with us. People like to compare him to Crowder, though I don't think that's accurate(maybe on the defensive end when he gets there) but this kid can jump and loves to attack so right out of the box slashing will be his most pro-ready skill, it's the rest of the game he has to figure out.

Watching game 7 sealed the deal for me as well.

Chris Forsberg ESPN article today expressed skepticism that Danny would draft someone whose analytic measurements were as poor as Brown.

I think Dunn is the pick if he is DA wants to make a trade but it doesn't quite materialise on draft night. Both Chicago and Philly want a PG and they just happen to be our two most talked about trade partners. Sacramento also.

If he wants upside and the guy most capable in Stevens' system then Bender is still the pick tbh

Oh yeah I actually wanted to discuss that here. That article was just about the most depressing thing one could read if they were an analytics geekhead. Like, wow. Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ted on Brown all over lol.

But he's an athlete who can't shoot and has the tools to play defense, so Danny might still take him.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Smart were poor also

You cant really weigh on that when drafting 1st year players . Especially with ones with high potential

Not true. Smart was rated number 1 based on analytics that year. Brown is in the high 70's.

Yeah like footey said. Smart's were fantastic. I think they were one of the highest in recent years actually.

I think this is a DA smokescreen to make teams that want the third pick to offer more because it implies we want Brown, this drives up the pick value.  Either that or we have a deal in place involving Crowder.

So true, so true.

I like Brown a lot and reading that hurt... :-[

So I guess my hope is that with improved spacing, pace, and coaching...Brown can be really good.  That coupled with the improvement that he will make individually, gives me a reason to believe in him.

But that article makes it seem like a LONG shot... :-\

Not sure what they measured...but smarts fg percentage was like 42 percent year 1 and 2. Look at his 3 pt shooting per also

Yes the other stats were good

But listen , it has not translated at the nba level(offense).  Maybe one day but ....

On the other hand brown with more room to operate/playing with better players may bump up his stats/efficiency all around

You would think if he cameback for a 2nd year of college ball , all stats/efficiency would improve also
