“Selfless teammates — that’s the most I can ask for going into this free agency: to get around guys that want to be around one another.”

I wasn't considering a Rondo return, but what he describes as the ideal team he wants to join sounds like our current Celtics. Any interest in talking him back? The Knicks, who seem to have the most interest in him, are not exactly a team that shares the ball and loves to be around each other.

His 3pt shooting last season was the best in his career, and he's still lead the NBA in assists. There has to be a place in this league for someone with his talents.

I don't think Boston's a good fit for him. Boston is selfless, but would also require him to be selfless and less ball-dominant

I think the Pelicans should think about adding him.  Him starting with Jrue off the bench would be a good guard rotation (as long as they replace Gordon with a good shooter)
I'm bitter.

no. he wont be brought back.

If the Kings don't want him, he could be out of a job next season

You really think a player who lead the league in assists this past season and shot 37% from the 3pt line will be out of a job next season? That's a bit drastic.

The "baggage" he brings to the table can't be underestimated

I started thinking about him AND PP34 perhaps coming back HERE - under the RIGHT circumstances - when they were both on ESPN about a week ago.

I miss those guys and that time in BOS.

I wish Rondo and PP34 the best wherever they land.

Rondo doesn't fit here at all. Maybe he'll join the Sixers.

That's quite a nice fit fr him actually. Especially if Gentry wants to run more. He'd have a running mate in Davis and some guys who can shoot around him. Might mean moving on from Evans but I hardly see that as a problem

I like the Pelicans idea. Imagine how many open looks Rondo would get Davis.

This is a Celtic forum, but let me take a step further.

I'm the Pellys and I call the Nets and Cavs about a trade this off-season.

Nets get Evans and #6
Cavs get Bogdan, Young, #39
Pelicans get Love

Go sign Rondo. Resign Gordon. Make a play at Barnes, Marvin Williams, or Parsons.

Lineup: Rondo-Gordon-Barnes-Love-Davis with Holliday, Asik, and Ajinca off the bench.

Rondo used the word selfless?

I do love irony.

Cleveland gives up the best player and gets the worst assets by far? Don't think lebron accepts that.

LeBron never even hears about that offer.

Even whoever the figurehead GM is there would have enough sense to turn that down.

Cleveland might consider a S&T that gets them Ryan Anderson, though.

Sure, he's not as good as Love, but Ryno knows his role and embraces it. I don't think you'd see Ryno turtle under the pressure like Love. Ryno is an unconscious shooter, but with good reason.

Not sure if NOP has the cap room to make that happen, because I can't see Cleveland wanting to pay Ryno "Kevin Love" money.
