I'm not sure where they pulled this from, but apparently Ford thinks we've narrowed our search down to Brown, Dunn, Chriss, and Murray for the number three pick, though he ultimately thinks we'd rather trade it for a star first.

It seems likely that at least one of these will fall to 8 with Sacramento. Outside of Dunn, I don't see Sacramento having much interest in Murray, Brown, or Chriss, because they're needing perimeter defensive AND offensive help that no rookie in that range can actually provide. They're desperately trying to make the playoffs and do enough to convince Cousins not to bolt in 2018, so they'd be looking for a vet that can help them make it back to the playoffs.

So let's say that we take Jaylen Brown at 3, and one of Murray or Chriss falls to number 8 at Sacramento. Would you trade either Crowder or Bradley straight up for the number 8 pick for either Murray or Chriss? Why or why not? Though I think Sacramento would happily do that trade, do you think they would deny it?

If we could nab Chriss at 8 for Crowder and go a little younger with a core of Smart, Rozier, Brown, and Chriss, that'd be an extremely good haul for this draft, especially if we're not able to actually trade for any stars. That's a potentially deadly forward combo in a few years, and both of them might have higher ceilings than anyone else on our roster with Smart being the only one challenging them.

Nope. I have a pretty good idea of what I've got with JC or AB. I'm not trading an established starter for one of the others, particularly now, when draft hype is at it's highest.

Of those four:

Brown:  :D
Murray: :D
Dunn:   :(
Chriss:   >:(

I'm not a big Chriss fan and, although I like Dunn, I have serious reservations about a guy who won't give us his medical reports.

I find it hard to believe, particularly since Bender is coming to Boston for a workout with us on Tuesday. Th only part I am sure of is that Ainge wants to trade the pick for a star.

I'd also question the above rumor, but look at it this way: If I'm DA, I'm bringing to Boston anyone who might be a target for a team looking to move up. No reason to let a team think that they can trade to #4 because we didn't try out their fave.

Out of those players, I guess I like Brown the most.  No interest in trading to get another one.  The draft CoolAid is flowing.

I think I've heard it reported that Danny was not impressed by what he saw when he recently scouted him in Israel, which is part of the reason he's falling in recent mocks.

Ford: Someone will be selected with the 3rd pick in the 2016 NBA draft.

Tuesday. I think you are making the point that they don't have a final opinion on him, if they are bringing him in next week. I agree with that.

If the Celtics really liked Bender I don't think they would trumpet it to the world. So I think him falling is almost certainly a smoke screen.

Maybe they want other teams to THINK they like him, so they might want to trade up for that pick?

So a few days ago it was for sure Brown, Murray or Chriss, now Dunn is back in. It's folly for us to think people actually have an insight into what Ainge is thinking. He's one of the few GMs who truly keeps his real thinking to himself
