There's such thing as negative PER?

Jeez this kid must have been doing even worse than I thought!
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Who else do you plan to spend the money on?

That's the kind of thinking that gets you Ben Gordon and Charlie Vllanueva.

You've taken a sentence of a longer post out of context. Barnes is not Gordon or Villanueva... so I'm failing to see the connection here. He literally just turned 24 years old and would likely be the 2nd best player on our team (and the other is 5'9").

Did I miss the part where you told me about the recent dominant UNC player in the NBA?:-))))

The two worst players on the floor in the Finals are (one for each team):

Barnes & Love

These are the 2 guys we want?

Lol, apparently :-\.

You could say the same for Duke. Aside from Kyrie (who is always injured), they haven't produced any dominant NBA players. If you go back another decade, though, I think UNC wins out pretty easily...

Both schools were hurt by Calipari setting up shop at UK. Duke has fared better in recent years, recruiting-wise, but not by a whole lot. UNC benefited (and hopefully will continue to) from guys staying in school (e.g., Marcus Paige).

That's a tangent, anyway. I would still bet on Barnes being our 2nd best player, and perhaps best 2-way player, if we signed him this offseason. That's not a terrible return on money we have nowhere else to place IMO. Now, if DeRozan were available, that'd be a different story. But again, he won't be.

UNC benefited by having basketball players be able to take African American Studies courses with NO professor and no attendance required.  That simply does NOT happen at Duke and I am NOT a Duke fan!!  My second daughter graduated from Carolina.  What UNC did to those many athletes over the last decade or more is heinous.  And, PLEASE, do NOT even start with saying that Roy didn't know.  Really?  Williams is a very smart man and a brilliant coach and he was fully aware of what was happening!!!
