This might come from left field but I just recently read that TNT and ABC have agreed to allow Craig Sager to be part of the Game 6 broadcast tonight.  From what I understand Sager is undergoing the brutal final stages of his cancer treatment and if Golden state wins the game this could perhaps be his final game.
Several years ago I lost an important person in my life to cancer and was always bothered when people made the statement that she finally lost her battle with cancer.  Craig Sager has never wowed me with his sideline commentary, his basketball insights, or his blinding suits, but he has impressed me with the way he has handled remaining days of his life.  Tonight might be his last night as part of the NBA, and in a few months, or weeks, or days his life may end...but he most certainly didn't lose his battle...he continued to do what he loved with-out self pity or complaint...and that to me is greatest example of winning I can imagine.

TP for ABC and TNT for making this happen.

Yes it's a great gesture to give Sager a chance to work a Finals game. Everyone is pulling for him in his battle.

It was a great gesture.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I agree. What a brave warrior.
Guys like Sager are an inspiration.

He's going out doing what he wants to do.

It's going to be an emotional game 6 and I'm glad that Craig gets to experience it as one of his last major outings.

After they sing that national anthem with just the crowd, and give Craig a dedication, the atmosphere is going to be electric.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
