who drops the most in this draft?

hello everyone. just to shift the talk away from trades ("can we get jimmy for red's corpse?"), "whom do the celtics pick at #3?", and "i hate/drool over bender", i want to raise a different question.

using draftexpress projections for this year's draft as our benchmark, which of the players projected to go in the top 10 do you think will drop the most? that is, which player will fall the farthest from their projected spot, and, what spot to you think they will land?

remember, paul pierce? he dropped to #10. gerald green? projected in the top 10 by many people. but he did a great imitation of a rock on draft night and wound up at #18. many such examples exist.

who will drop the most this year and how far will they drop? my guess is marquis chriss, currently #3, will drop due to worries on rebounding and defense. i think he winds up at #10.

I think all the risers (Chriss, Richardson, etc.) have already taken place due to workouts and whatnot.

Of that current top 10?  It's easiest to pick #10, of course, but I think Ellenson will be on the board when the C's pick at 16.

In the top 10, I think it'll be Poeltl (hopefully to 16!).

Teams will talk themselves into guys who seem like they might have range (Ellenson, Skal, Chriss), and out of guys who probably don't.


Later in the draft, I wouldn't be surprised if Cheick Diallo and Taurean Prince fall to the second round.

I think Marquese Chriss.  He's at #17 on the nbadraft.net user consensus mock.  I think he has the athletic potential to be great, but its also really easy to see how that potential could not pan out with him not seeming to have a great bball IQ and I think that ultimately scares away a lot of GMs from pulling the trigger.  We've just seen too many players like him come into the draft and not pan out and there are a lot of players to like in the late lottery in this draft.

If you figure Chriss is a top-4 pick, I think he falls to the 8-10 range.

I think Denzel Valentine gets hurt by his injury reports. Mkogav told me he has 'Granger Knee', and nobody wants to take a guy who can't make it more than 3 or 4 years in the league, best case. I hope he's still there in the 20's.

yeah, Bender's not dropping.  the only 'dropping' Bender will be associated with is CoachBo dropping to the floor having a heart attack when he sees Bender isn't the stiff he's projecting.
