Draft is one week away, Are we okay with #3+ Avery Bradley for Jimmy Butler now?

Completely agree with Shaq.

Dunn is BPA, by far, and is an asset with many, many uses. The lack of workouts mean nothing.

The problem with this idea is you're not trading baseball cards here, you are trying to build a basketball team. So now you draft a player you don't really want for your team but think others do and you will fleece them on some deal. But what happens when the plan backfires?

You think you're dealing from a position of strength but I look at the other way. I see it as now you have a player in a position you don't really need and have a log jam and if you don't make a move you're in a bad position. So I low ball you!

What you guys want to do needs to have a deal already on the table so you don't screw yourself. Otherwise I punish you for trying to fleece me.

#3 and AB --> probably, although as someone else said, that's giving Chicago a strong backcourt for years in Dunn (assuming he develops) and AB.

Having to include #16 to get it done is where I hesitate a bit.  Butler is better than AB but #3 and #16 better?  I'm not so sure, especially when factoring the cost.  AB developed a new aspect to his game this year by driving to the basket.  if he's improved on that a bit, #3 and AB is more than enough for Butler.

Make it Smart instead of AB and I would think about it. I think Butler is a little overrated. I would rather trade the 3 for Okafor instead of Butler!!

Nobody is mentioning one thing.  Butler's stats are suppressed by Derrick "Hero Ball" Rose.  Rose loses them more games than he wins.  He's throwing himself at the basket when he should be passing it to Butler.

Wow that's a tough one. I need to think about that for a while. I'm leaning towards yes but it's very close.

It only makes sense if a big time name joins him in coming to Boston.  Otherwise, replacing Bradley with Butler does not make this team that much closer to competing for a championship, and we lose a major building block in the process.

When the plan backfires, you end up with arguably the best guard in the draft -  a player who has the skills to contribute now and the potential to one day be a star.  Not a bad consolation price, huh?

This is exactly what I do would as well. My fear is that it ends up being Dunn for Okafor, though. I like Okafor, but not that much. I really think Dunn could end up being a star.

Exactly. We would have no leverage in such a deal. Much how the Sixers probably have less leverage in a deal since they're the ones with the problem of having all these bigs, and like how we likely won't have much leverage in dealing our other picks, since we have the problem of having so many.
