I could deff buy into that. I'd much rather have Noel than Okafor, and WCS is basically Noel on a longer cheap deal.

#3 and RJ for  8, WCS and McLemore. Sign me up if we can't do something bigger. That probably makes us one of the two or three best defenses in the league. Add Love to that and we could have 55-60 wins.

I'd do this trade. WCS didn't score a lot of points but he was efficient in a small role. Dunks everything. Advanced stats were very good. He's a great defender, switches screens, protects the rim. He's such an incredible athlete - track star speed in the open floor, perfect for a fast paced offense.

Biggest concern with WCS his his poor assist numbers - he's going to be a drag on your offense in the half court, interrupt the tempo + flow, miss opportunities. But that's why we're trading for him AND #8.

I'd be happy with this. Take Chriss, Baldwin or Korkmaz at #8.

For better or worse, Ainge and Stevens appear to value "character," as they define it, above a lot of other attributes. I suspect that if they are dead set on one guy that has the "it" factor that they are looking for they'll be willing to reach at #3. That said, as I just mentioned in another thread, I highly doubt we keep the pick unless the well is completely dry (e.g., 76ers won't part with Okafor yet).

I got the feeling that the 76ers deal is already a done deal if we want it. Ainge is just probing the market first for better trades and making sure that Ingram doesn't drop first. Colangelo and him are pretty close, so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I think it's for worse. You draft the best player available. Who cares if he's a little out of sorts in terms of character? Obviously, you look into anything you deem as a red flag, but I'll take the more talented and less "character" guy over the guy with more "character" but maybe a little less actual talent.

Did Danny really think Winslow was the best player available at 4? Or did character/grit/heart play a role in Danny's desire for him?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Umm, we should.  This team desperately needs talent, and adopting that school of thought would only be counterproductive, imo.  That is, unless you want a repeat of James Young over Rodney Hood, Fab Melo over anyone ;D, JR Giddens over Chalmers and Deandre Jordan, or Jajuan Johnson over Jimmy Butler, to name a few examples.  What's the point in drafting someone with all the talent and physical gifts in the world if they aren't going to work hard or display a motor on the court, ect.?

At this point, I don't think anyone would be shocked if player 8 turned out to be better than players 3-7.  It is just that you get the leftover guy who might not fit your system.  Our system seems flexible.

Not sold on Chriss. I like but do not love WCS.

I prefer the #3 (K.Dunn) to WCS and Chriss.

Ok, I voted yes based on what others have said. Not big on players that have no offense but at the same time we need a center that can play along side Kelly or another stretch 4.

Okafor is much better than Noel and it's a good thing his stock is low right now bc I hope we get him. I think he can take a leap in his game and do it for next season. Okafor is actually longer than Noel too, Okafor is really big and that is also a reason he struggled on rotations and etc bc big guys that are 280 usually do struggle like that.

I would do it for any of the six 2nd tier guys - does it really matter at this point. Better to get your athletic, defensive Center of the future on a long, cheap deal and one of those guys than have to choose first of one of the six and be wrong.
