If we go Chriss at 3 and Malachi at 16 I might put a piece of furniture through my tv.
Also, I see Valentine going in the 20's in mocks but I don't understand it at all. He's a great shooter at a time when shooting is at a premium. I don't think he's much worse than Buddy.
I agree with all your points. Chriss is a player that has risen fast, but that rebounding scares the hell out of me. That's a skill that translates, so if he struggled (to put it mildly) in college, how bad is he going to do on the next level? This screams of a lack of instincts, timing, motor, and/or positional strength. A lot of times you have these athletic players rise (see Swift, Ty Thomas, etc.) and bomb at the next level. He could be next.
Richardson's shooting percentage/shot selection scare me off too, but I could live with it considering he's at #16.
I too love Valentine. The guy is a plug and play in any system with his versatility. I also wonder why Hield is unanimously ranked higher. Hield is a slightly better shooter and has more athletic ability, but Valentine is the far superior rebounder and passer, could run PNR effectively, and has enough size and skill to play 3 positions.
If the draft falls like DX projects I would go with
3- Bender
16- Valentine
23- Zizic (stash)
31- Maker (hopefully agrees to stash)
35- Cornelie (stash)
45- Hammons (high reward/low risk at this spot)
51- Uthoff (give him a look to see if he makes the team)
58- Fall (stash, not sure if he's still in)
