I just saw Forsberg post one of Ford's trade ideas in this Insider article.

https://twitter.com/ESPNForsberg/status/742719877128060928?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

He said it was the Lakers sending Russell and Randle for Picks 3, 16, JJ, Hunter, and Mickey. If so, was he high when he wrote this? lol I'm as big of a Celtics homer as anybody, but you do that trade every day and twice on Sunday if you're Danny Ainge lol

Does anyone else see this as one-sided as me? If someone could post the Boston part, I'd greatly appreciate it! I can't imagine that he proposed such a lopsided trade in reality.
HOly crap, Chad Ford's opinions are all over the board.   This trade would be amazing.  His previous suggestion that we package Thomas + #3 + Jerebko for Ricky Butler - not so amazing.

So the Celtics become TARP to the Lakers' housing market crisis?  Great (sarcasm) ::). That 'trade' is highway robbery for Los Angeles, imo.  No way am I giving them the tools to possibly get two key components of their next title contender (I'm assuming) in one draft, and in the form of back to back picks at 2 and 3 :o, no less.  Hell no.  They got themselves into this mess with Russell and we should hang up the phone laughing.  Screw them.

Yeah, I just think he's terrible at gauging value in trades lol

Maybe not as bad as Kevin Pelton who suggested we trade #3 for Jusuf Nurkic

Please remember what Coach Brad Stevens about trading the #3 pick:

It has to be impactful.

Giving it away for Russel and Randle is the opposite of impactful.

Makes me think Russell is legit on the way out. Not liked any more in LA or 76ers by what is being put out there. Dunn is the guy for both those clubs. But why if anything would the C's want Russell if everyone now wants Dunn? Wouldn't that mean Dunn has more value. C's would really have to like Randle in this case.

Isn't it just a random trade idea?  Why does that signal Russell is on the way out?

This is a really confusing trade idea for both sides. I could see this working if we brought in Philly as a third team.

Boston sends: 3, 16, JJ, RJ Hunter
Boston receives: Randle, Noel, 2017 1st via Lakers

Lakers send: Russel and Randle
Lakers receive: 3,16,24, JJ and  RJ Hunter

Philly sends: Noel, 24, 2017 1st via Lakers
Philly receives: Russel

Having a starting lineup that would include three mediocre to poor defenders like Thomas, Randle, and Russell is much more acceptable with Crowder and Noel as the other two starters. Sure, we could always start Bradley, but I'm not trading #3 for a sixth man and no interior defense if we don't acquire Noel. I just wonder if Philly is ready to move both Noel and what could be a top 5 pick in a draft that is supposed to be strong for Russell?

"We are not reporting these deals as actual trade talks."

The reaction in the reddit thread is pretty funny.  THey call out this one specifically as the most ridiculous.

Obviously Boston would do this deal.  Obviously the Lakers aren't giving up Russell and Randle for the #3 pick.

#3 for Russell is fair, assuming he burned bridges in LA and they love Dunn enough to consider it a win-win.

The remaining, where we send 4 spare parts for Randle makes no sense. If it's going to be a Russell and Randle deal, it has to at least be more like:

Russell, Randle
for
#3, Rozier, Bradley

Lakers can take Ingram and Dunn, and roll out something like Dunn / Bradley / Ingram / Rozier at the guard spots.

Then we do something like move IT+future picks in a Butler trade and hand the keys to Russell with Smart off the bench?

Not that this makes a ton of sense, but at least it sorta works out to say we'd end up with:

Russell / Smart / Butler (guards)
Crowder / Butler / Jerebko (wings)
Randle / KO / Amir / Mickey (bigs)

Seems like a lot of work to turn IT into Russell, Bradley into Butler, and Sully into Randle...

I'm not a big fan of either Russell or Randle as prospects.

Wait a second. Are you telling me you would rather have Dragan AKA stick Bender who doesn't even lift weights over Russell? Do you realize what Russell did in the last 3 months of the season? This is one of the most absurd things I've ever heard. It is a fact that a ninteen year old Russell performed well towards the end of the season, much like most stars do in their rookie years. They get better after making adjustments.

There is factual evidence out there that Russell can play in the NBA. What does Bender freaking have? You can't even confirm his stats. He wants to be like Toni Kukoc. Yeah, that Kukoc was quite the defender, lol. It's like people on this board don't even read the Bender articles. All the signs are there that he is nothing more than a future role player.

I know!! The lakers would never do that deal. They're too smart to trade Russell.

Yeah, I'm really surprised how many people are against this. Sure, you'd have to do some more trades after this, but we'd be fleecing LA in terms of value. It'd be like trading the number three pick for Wiggins. Yeah, we're already set at the swing spot, but that's a no-brainer trade that you always make.

Because a large group of the basketball coverage writers keep suggesting it and Lakers have also said they don't want to wait for a slow rebuild. I for one would look for a established veteran via Russell trade then land Westbrook in FA. Russell and Randle for Melo or Butler+? Ingram for Cousins or Blake? Lakers can put a star group together real quick which I firmly believe is the goal.
